So I FINALLY made a fluke design I actually like, and when I blew it up to scale (teehee)... it's MASSIVE. 48"x35" (122x89cm). I'm only 5'2" (148 cm) and slim. I concerned not just with the maneuverability (I'm pretty great in a monofin but this will be my first full tail, which I'm making out of silicone) but with how big it will look in comparison to me. I've made two modifications that come out to 39"x39" (99x99cm) and 43"x37" (109x94) but those both require losing some elements in the middle of the fin which would make me a sad siren!
I'm wary of posting the fluke design online because I know certain tail makers WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS have a tendency to, well, shamelessly steal other people's designs, but I'd really like some feedback on this. How big are your fins? I'm measuring the width as the distance between the two widest flares of the fin tips, and the length from where it will meet the foot pockets of my monofin down to the tip of the longest fin.
