Thread: Stupid Boobs.

  1. #41
My size is fluctuating right now, so I made this top for my poor boobies. By using the stretch of the main strap and the non-stretch of the rope I got a really customized, secure fit. I have no idea how this might help you exactly, but I wanted to offer mer-boob solidarity. For me, it was about accepting the boobs that have nourished two children and finding the right bra so that at least my cleavage is the shape I want it. and I'm a 38 C...

Damn that top is so beautiful. Might buy some sequins today so I can make one myself.

Thanks! I have a thread on the making of it. Feel free to check it out. I'm a relatively new mer, and I've never seen nautical rope used before. I love it though! http://mernetwork.com/index/showthre...a-Sequined-Top

Okay, does anyone one else have a problem with over spillage? Like i love/hate Victoria secret because everything has to have a lift and cleavage. I am a 34D as if my boobs need to look any bigger, and when i go to work, (dog grooming) and my shirts get wet, its SO obvious! "Hey, I'm imogen's nipple. My bud over huurr is nipple no.2. Just poking, well all of my wholeness out so she can look like a freak tucking and adjusting us. We only pop out again." 😢 and they never have bras that are just normal non lifting bras.

I WISH I had such problems! 4 collective years of nursing has taken me down to a 36 *almooooooost* B.
    No non-lifting bras??
I suppose the grass is always greener, right?

I'm with you, Imogen. I don't want a boob mold, I just want a little security and coverage. None of this hauling the boobs up and squishing them until they acceptably round. Also must get around to using that handy breast calculator. Perhaps later tonight.

Fancy a cup of mermaid tea?

I prefer a bra with sturdy underwire, a tad bit of lining so le nips dont show through clothes, and i hate hate hate those staps that are removable my boobs usually snap the things that hold the straps.

Holy seacow! I finally got around to using that bra size calculator, and it says I'm a 42H in UK sizes! That's a US 42K! I can understand why my 42DDD fits okay, but how the heck have I been cramming into a 40C?

Probably not super relevant to making tops, but I found out about this kind of bra that measures breasts by volume instead of the traditional sizing method. I'm going to try it, would anyone like me to report on how it goes?

So I used a sports bra for my new top. I'll be selling similar custom ones on Etsy when I get it up. Haha But Here's a photo of it. There are more in my photo albums.

@Caspiana How did I not think of this! I have a large chest myself and heaven forbid I find anything that fits. (But I'm not as bad as other mers sporting G breasts and the like...you poor souls!) I did find a flowy top that a friend bought that worked wonders! Hers was a touch too small (but tied in the back) so my boobs were squished but it was up high enough that I didn't have to worry about random pop outs!

I thought the same thing when I first thought of this idea. Haha It works great! A little snug because I glued it and such, but perfect because it holds everything in and makes my boobs, C maybe D cup, look small for once. Haha

I feel yalls pain. I have gained some weight over the last few years and am now in the process of loosing it again but for now my boobs are staying. I didn't go through the trouble of getting new bras for quite a while cause i figured all bras were uncomfortable. But my mom saw the bruising and was like... Im taking you shopping. Within the course of two years I went from a 38C bra to a 36DDD. None of my swim tops are fitted cups. I go for the band of fabric with elastic underneath and razorback top. And if its not razorback i make it one. I tried decorating one of those elastic stretch fit comfort bras (i love those things) and found it is GREAT for dry events but in the water it pulls away from my body and im pretty sure with every kick of my fin i flash anyone in the vicinity.
