I've actually changed my design to that of a goldfish with somewhat muted colors, but we can still be mer-cousins

Dear SeaGlass, never listen to people saying what you can Not do. That's nonsense! Every mer knows instinctively what her or his scales look like - don't let anyone tell you differently! Since your pic is black and white it's difficult to judge your natural colour palette, but I'm absolutely sure there's a good soft-colour version in it for you!
Oh dear seems like I saw the wrong design Froth I can't find your new design, but yes, we'll totally be mer-cousins anyway
Sadly there is not going to be a new episode today. I'm still waiting for a shipment of silicone and new pigment (which should be epic, if I'm and judge. Can't wait to start airbrushing/painting.) so I figured it wouldn't be worth posting a video where nothing happens!
But be prepared for an extra long one next week. Side-fins will be cast and painted and maybe there will even be a sculpture of the fluke. Additionally there will be a new scale sample with a new method of back and front painting on which I'd love your opinion.
Keep swimming! And see you next week.
Nim
I love your scale pattern! Very betta!

Ooh now I want to make an actual Betta tail. One thing at a time Nim, one thing at a time.
My pigments arrive today! Hurray!
Absolutely gorgeous! I'm excited to see how it all develops.
Oh wow I agree those scales do look real! At first before I watched episode 2 I thought the preview image was just a translucent photo print out of a real fish's scales and you were just using it for reference. Your digital drawing of your tail design is wonderful too.

Nim the scales are BEAUTIFUL! I love the translucency and the shimmer! It looks like you stripped that skin right off a fish. Btw, I could listen to your voice all day! You could become the new voice of SIRI !!!
Looking at the video still, I thought it was a real piece of cured fish skin. So realistic!
THOSE SCAAAALLLESSS.
Nim they are so beautiful and shiny and reaalliistiiicc.
I love them <33
Amazing, absolutely awesome.
Wow thank you everyone! I'm delighted you guys are enjoying this journey as well! <3
And if you'd like me to misdirect you to the nearest body of water, I'll be more than happy to do that Keiris.
Any new developments?(I'm antsy)
Haha, sorry for the silence Celaeno! In all honesty I'm still struggling with customs. It seems to be an unbelievably complex affair to let through a collection of pigments from overseas (ok, admittedly they Do look like a drug shippment in their little zippy-bag-filled-with-odd-powder-self... But really! Also my shipment of shellshock and the large(r) pots of silicone I ordered two weeks ago are still lost in postal limbo. All in all; I'm antsy too.
I'll upload a little failed-experiments compilation sometime before the week is over though it was an educational few days for me.
Dang customs! As though you're planning on snorting or injecting sparkly rainbow powders.
I love educational failures, I feel like you learn more from what goes wrong than what goes right.
Hey everyone!
I'm sorry for the delay on updates. Our kitten managed to get stuck in a cracked window. Once we found her there was nothing left we could do except put her to rest.
However, I'm back at work now and things should progress again soon.
Looking forward to chatting with you lovlies again.
Nim
PS To anyone with windows; please don't leave them cracked unattended. A little six months old kitten will thank you for it. <3
I'm deeply sorry for the loss of you kitten.
That's terrible what happened to your kitten, my condolences. >;
Thank you, mermaids. That's very sweet of you.
Oh no! I'm so sorry!
