I have that giddy feeling of birthing a new and exciting project baby and I wanted to share.
We did it!
I'm so proud of our newest production and my troupe. The storytelling dance show, 'The Mermaid Who Wanted to Dance' happened at Festival of Legends in Apex NC for the first time. We hope to present this show at future venues. Please let me know of leads/venues you think would be interested in a storytelling pirate, a mermaid with a dream, bellydance, Hawaiian hula and Tahitian dance all rolled into a family friendly presentation! www.colorfulwaves.com
We usually present a great dance show but this time I wanted to go a step farther into the storytelling realm and work in the mermaids that I love.
Challenges putting the show together? Yes, I couldn't believe how hard it was to find folks to manage our props. Haha! The easiest job in the whole show and no one wanted to be the fish or the waves. What's up with that?!?
I think I did a pretty good job painting our props, making the costumes and creating a choreography that highlights meeting a beauty by the sea. My narrator Captain Squeaky Eye Stevens did a good job and my dancers were beautiful and amazing as always! Love them.
I hope to share it with you all in the future at some amazing venue so you can witness it LIVE! Not sure where that is but SOME PLACE has to want to host us, they just don't know it yet. haha! I have a vidoeographer working on a quick promo. Fins crossed that it comes out not only usable but beautiful. I'm looking for suggestion of pirate, mermaid, polynesian festivals and other events that may be interested in a show like this, thoughts? I've sent out some applications already. Thx for your support.
