Was wondering the same thing. It looks so nice. What monofin?

Tell me your secrets, sailor.. and I'll whisper mine in return.
This is my (very first!!) tail. It's an Ecotail by Mertailor. I deliberated this tail vs. a Fin Fun tail, however I ultimately decide on this one because I just really prefer how the scale print looks and that is has a closed bottom.
Thanks!! It is a Finis Wave monofin that I modified to be a little longer/differently shaped using duct tape and zip ties! there's more in my tailmaking thread
I don't actually have a ton of photos where you can see it super well out of water but here are a few!!
As you can see, the extension makes it a little floppier/flowier on land than the unmodified monofin is
That is GORGEOUS, Jadestone!! Clever what you did with the monofin, too!

I absolutely adore this thread!
I only have the one fabric tail, and have always lusted after a partial or full silicone tail. But this thread made me appreciate my tail so much more.
It's got flaws, and certainly can do with a makeover/remake but it's mine. And I love it!
Please let's not let this thread die!
Mermaid Lazuli, have you taken the EcoTail out for a swim yet? I have often looked at the EcoTails too, it's just that shipping to Australia makes it almost double the cost :P
I have! It worked out pretty well for me and I'm quite happy with it (although I would suggest wearing socks with it.) The monofin inside has more propulsion than a FinFun tail, due to the the fact that it's stiffer. I also like the rather realistic scale pattern. The one thing to keep in mind with them apparently is that the tail has a seam where the body meets the monofin, so you're advised to try not to stand on the bottom in the tail as much as possible because it can stress the seam. I have not had a problem yet, though!
Also, Mertailor has sales every once in awhile that cut the cost of the EcoTails a good amount. If you wanted, you might be able to wait and that would bring the total cost down... You have my sympathy, I've heard shipping to Australia can be a pain.

Ah, so much fabric tail love! I'm hoping to make my own fabric tail, and this thread has given me a lot of ideas!
"The Mer in me, it's easy to see. Long golden tresses, a heart set free in the Sea."
One of my home made fabric tails. Still lots of work to do but sometimes I just have to get out and play creatively with the camera.
I used my first fin folk mermaid skin to make a pattern and then started deconstructing old costumes to make more two tails. Once I perfected the process I got a great deal on the fishscale material and made a matching top to go with it

My tail was heavily inspired by mermaid Jadestone's tail and used similar ideas and techniques to make it I am quite happy with the result I used zipties sewn into the fabric to hide the Rapid. We'll see how it holds up...

My fabric tail. Love it, but need a new sock for m6 monofin...or a better monofin

This treasure cums for YOUR booty
love it
Thank you I actually need to make a few modifications. Sadly I wore small holes in the fabric near the zips ties and haven't swam in it since.
I am scared I will rip more holes in it and I am looking for some kind of a protective thick coating for the bottom. To prevent problems like this.
