I'm up for that. Should be more than enough time for Finfolk to get done with re-sizing my tail.

We going with Ichetucknee then? If so, I'll go ahead and reserve a campsite for the weekend for Miss Marlin and I. (after I clear it with her of course)

Ugh, I want to go to a meet up SO bad but the scheduling never works out. My mum's car is in the shop and if it does get paid off in time for it then we might be going out of town. Some day I will make it to a meet-up.

(I don't have a sewing machine with the right stitch to sew my tail skin anyway, but still. Gahhh.)

Hope you all have a great time & take plenty of pictures!

I'm almost positive I could go that weekend!!!

Emma> there's a merfest in Tampa bay FL this year in September. Might be a good chance for a meet.

I haven't been to either one personally....I was going to go by distance as a factor in my vote but they look quite close to one another. So if whoever has been to them could possibly give us pros and cons?

From what I've read of other mers whos been to Blue springs is in some places it's pretty shallow. Both have sucken logs to snagging may happen. Blue Springs has nicer amitatees and camping than Itchetucknee, but Itch. has wild life that sometimes join for swimming plus it's an entire river to swim down so a lot places to 'perch' and show off to tubers. There's swimming holes at both for beginnner mers to swim and learn in their fins. Itch is tech closer to Marlin and myself than blue springs but not by much.

Any other Mers have pros and cons?

Driving wise, Blue Springs is way closer to me (Just ran the Google Earth "Get Directions" thing) I've heard great things about both. I know that the Georgia mers are thinking about a meet around the same time we are and Blue Springs is one of the locations they were discussing as a site. If you guys wanted to, we could just combine the two meets at a central location. (Eastern Alabama being -kinda- in between Florida and Georgia)

I'd still like to vote for Blue Springs if the camping amenities are better. We (Miss Marlin and I) camped out for the Alexander meet and enjoyed it, so we would probably be doing the same thing again. (Especially if you want to really plan for it and get camping spots next to each other.)

So- TL;DR - Both springs are nice, Blue is closer to me and we could combine meets with the GA mers and have a one big (maybe multi-day) mer-meet. So I am up for Blue Springs for the weekend of July 20th.

If the GA mers were thinking blue springs AL then that would be fun to meet a lot fo other local mers. Though I'll admit AL is a bit of a drive from Jax FL.

I am very interested in meeting some of you! I don't have a tail yet, but I do have a camera and love creative shoots. There don't seem to be many merfolk here in panama city so I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it. I had no idea there was a festival!

I've been to Blue springs, FL before. There is a bit of a current in between the beginner swimming hole and the diving hole, and there are roots to swim between, but I did have the opportunity to swim with fish! The only reason why I had a difficult time swimming there was because the bottom of the spring was not sandy, so the water (without goggles) was difficult to navigate. Otherwise the water is pretty clear.

I don't have a tail yet but I'm heading to Itchetucknee on Wed I believe...possibly Ginnie Springs.

I'm in Jacksonville (Neptune Beach area) until then if anyone local wants to meet up. I'd like to meet some fellow mers.
