Tail insurance

If you're just putting it in your suitcase with your clothes, I doubt anything would happen to it. If you're really worried, maybe wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in the middle of the case so the rest of your stuff acts like a cushion. Don't pack sharp objects next to it etc.

how much will weigh an average latex tail??

You can get bubble wrap at the post office, but otherwise maybe try a store that specialises in office supplies, or even a craft or hardware store.
How heavy your tail is depends on how thick it is. Maybe ask your tail maker to weigh it for you before they send it.

I know Finfolk describe their tails as "swimwear", so yes, maybe sport goods. Or clothing. Maybe go for the cheaper option ;)
