Hi all, I've been experimenting with making faux sea glass, and tonight I decided to try and turn some of the pieces into pendants.

I don't know yet what kind of necklace I will put them on... maybe a leather cord? I'm not sure what will work well in the water.

I'm not used to using wire as soft as aluminum :/ I hope they look ok, normally I use copper wire but copper doesn't do well in the water.

Every once in a while we can find nice sea glass on the beach around here, but we are more likely to find the still sharp glass :(

I'm working on another batch of faux sea glass tonight :)

I also managed to make some new mermaid necklaces!
I failed twice before getting the look I wanted for the necklaces

I am looking in to getting some stainless steel eye pins but for right now most of the jewelry my husband and I make is not water safe. The mermaid's are based off of my Dragon necklaces 26882

Oooh, I like your creations :) BTW, a dip in marine-grade resin would seal all your work up for water use just fine! I have quite a few of my own creations I'll be sending out to have coated so I can incorporate them into my mermaiding.

Polymer Clay faux sea glass? They should be fine in water, but sealing them would help keep the soft aluminum wire from distorting from use and getting caught on stuff. You can use EnviroTex resin to coat them/dip them in and they will last for years and years! Just let them hang for about a week to completely harden and you're good to go!
