Fish Butts the Good Kind!

So, why not have a thread for aquariums? I'm sure some of us have fishy friends.

I just re-did my ten gallon aquarium and had to share.

My betta is housed with 6 neon tetra's, amazon swords, Anubias, an unknown fern, and a Marimo. It's heated and filtered.

I used to have an aquarium and hope to one day have one again in the future but in my previous place they used to jump out of the tank on me which was so upsetting (this was when I was in high school I used to get so upset! I hope I can one day get another tank with fishes and a light etc so they don't get the white mold etc as I used to love sitting there watching my fish swim (they were the long tailed goldfish) I hope to one day get my place renovated and decorate it in a tropical fashion and the fish tank would be the perfect addition for that!

And even though I don't live in the tropics I want to be a tropical mermaid lol at least that is what my dream tail incorporates (tropical colors that is) :)

Anyway all dreams I am working towards but such a beautiful aquarium I love it! BTW are your plants real or fake?? Just curious :) Thanks

Goldfish are expensive guys to up keep properly. They need 20 Gallons per fish! That is definitely a big goal if you go for those guys. ;) if anything you can always get a marimo! They are adorable little moss balls only need a small space. That's what I did before I got my betta. It was a nice way to get back into the hobby.

The ones on the left side of the tank are real, the others are not. I am hoping to get more live ones soon though! After I upgrade my filter and lighting. <3 I love taking care of my fish. I hope to get a nice set up one day to. UwU It's addictive!

That was what i had as a kid was gold fish :) The long ribbon tail ones. And yes I have designs but because my tail would be so expensive and unusual I would rather not share it till I can get the tail made which will be a long time possibly :) and thanks with the advice! Good to know :) Am getting plants in for my first top now and shells etc but will work more out as I go but I have my specific tail design just am keeping it a secret till I can get it made :)

So glad to see a betta in a big tank! I am guilty of being one of those kids that had a betta in a vase, but I didn't know any better back then. Now I feel so sorry for bettas sold and kept in tiny little bowls. Very nice tank and fish!

It is a gorgeous fishtank hope to have one myself one day! Though to be honest I didn't know you needed certain size tanks for different fish :) I always had freshwater fish but what I really desired was tropical fish cause I just love the colors of them!

Also a question where you do find large fish tanks in Australia?? Just curious for down the track if I can afford to get a large fish tank for any future fishes :) As If I could down the track I would love to get a 120 galleon tank and supplies to set up a tropical fish tank! lol never mind realised you arent in australia but wil leave this in case anyone else sees it!

Oh if you were meaning sketch designs I am working on it :) Not that good at the sketching part to be honest always have the bust to small I can''t fit all teh details lol :P

I have a story about getting a fish:

Okay, so about a month ago I went to the pet store to hold the ferrets . . . don't judge me, but I do this a lot . . . and I saw the beta fish.
You need to know that I have been asking my mom for a beta fish, or really any type of small critters, for my whole life. We have a fish bowl and all the other things I would need for a fish (my mom had bought my sister a fish when we were younger! I cried for the whole week it lived. I had to take care of it because she didn't care about it.), we just have no fish.
So any way, there I was, starring at the fish when it hit me. Why not just get a fish and not tell my mom. I searched through all the fish trying to find the perfect one for me. Honestly a lot of them looked dead, but there was one that stuck out. He was fighting to get out of the stupid, extremely small plastic Tupperware container.
I new he was the right fish for me because I wanted a more lively fish.
After talking to one of the sales people I learned that the kind of food I was planning on using was second rate to this other kind of food. Personally I think she was full of bologna. They were having a sale on the "special" food, so I bought it. (It is a good thing I did, because when I got home I couldn't find the old food to compare.)
So I purchased everything and went home and set every thing up. I waited three hours before I released him in the tank. About a week later my mom found out. I got in trouble, but now we look back at it and laugh.
I named him Aladdin by the way.
