How to sew on sequins to a tail?

Ok to start I have a smooth skin tail that I would like to put sequins on. Not to cover the whole tail but here an there to make it look like scales. E6000 will NOT stick to my tail so I have to sew them on. How do I go about that? There is a small hole in the sequins but still lost on how to put them on. I looked to see on how but nobody has posted anything about putting them on to a tail. Please help.

Basically, just grab a needle and some thread (I've heard of some mers using fishing Line but I used regular thread) and sew them on through the hole. reinforce the stitch a few times before sewing a connector stitch in the fabric so that you can begin sewing on the next sequin.

Also when sewing sequins make sure you don't go through the full layer of fabric as with swimming fabric it can comprimise the durability and also it gets very itchy and annoying with it rubbing on your skin where the threads come through the material I normally only sew to the top later only but never through the fabric completely. Oh and I also use a fishing line so it lasts longer and stays water proof cotton thread will just rot given time.

Ok so if I use fishing line there will be less of a chance of the string rotting away an don't go all the way threw the tail? So when I start I do 1 sequin tie it off then do another?

Definitely tie it off, otherwise you run the risk of it breaking in one area and then coming totally undone. Every knot you tie is another strong point in the thread.

You might be able to tie it without cutting the thread, though, so you can just keep sewing with the same piece of thread. I've not sewn sequins before, though, so I can't say for sure! Experiment and see what works for you.

I've sewn sequins with fishing line. I use suffix performance brand .014"/0.35mmin lo-vis green, it works great!
