Tight monofin foot pockets

Help please,
my monfin foot pockets are a tight fit and with them inside my tail its nigh to impossible to get my heels tucked into the pockets.
Will the same lubes, oils, or lotions that are used to lube tails work for a monofin as well?
Do I need to lube just my feet the fins or both?

I have a really hard time with my Mahina when its in my tail. I use a water based lube to help out.

My Foil has tight foot pockets. I've been wearing them when I'm on the computer. I wear sports socks with them to help stretch it even more. They are not as tight as the first day I received them.

As long as it doesnt bother you, most adult lube is waterbased and available pretty much everywhere. Adult stores are open pretty late too and would be open after you were done work. Pharmacies and lots of grocery type stores have a small selection as well.

actually yeah...Gun Oil is an adult lubricant that I have used recently to get my feet into my new Minos Monofin. I have wide feet so sadly, I am not able to find monofins that have a wide set foot pocket.

I finally made myself go buy a separate cheaper bottle for my fins because the stuff I had on hand was expensive and I felt like using it on my feet was a waste.

I do both. Find it easier if you squirt a bit into the footpockets.

Are the pockets rubber or something else? Because you could use coconut or olive oil.

You can find lube at your local CVS, Walgreens or Rite aid! If you live in Canada check Shoppers or if you're in England go to Boots! They all have lube!

I just got a Nemo wing monofin and I have yet to get them on on because my feet are too wide. I am going to try the lube idea too. Putting them on really hurts the feet when it starts pulling on the foot hair.
Would vegetable oil or soap work?

I really don't want to mail it back overseas and it is the largest they have. I never wear shoes so my feet are naturally wide compared to standard shoe fitting.

Are the footpockets rubber? If so you could try heating them up and slowly stretching them.

Have you tried cramming your clodhoppers in the fin and then sitting them in a tub of hot water? You want hot water that your feet can go in, without feeling pain from the water.

You can try soaking the foot pockets in warm water to soften them a bit, then use a shoe stretcher (http://www.amazon.com/FitRight-Two-Way-Stretcher-Womens-5-5-7/dp/B000KPMBTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424092289&sr=8-1&keywords=Shoe+stretcher). This device works well to get a little extra room in shoes. It would probably work on rubber, or silicone, too.

Galene you're a life saver I've been looking for something like that everywhere! I've got a pair of fairy shoes that I made a bit too small. Been trying to find a stretcher like that forever and was told they didn't exist.

Shoe stretchers usual work on leather shoes (dampen the leather first with rubbing alcohol), but it might work temporarily on rubber, but the rubber will likely ease back into its original shape.

I don't want to tell you to use a hair dryer to heat the rubber because I don't want you to ruin your fin! But if you can find a similar piece of rubber, try heating it and stretching it over a chunk of wood to test it.
