As I posted recently, my poor little fin fun monofin cracked in two. Lucky for me, AptaMer gave me his old Dol-fin monofin. I thought I could use it to practice in until I get my old one replaced. But just for giggles, I tried it on with the tail.

Gotta say, not a bad fit! There is some bagginess around the ankles, because the dol-fin is much shorter than the fin fun, and the centre sticks out just a teeny bit, but not bad at all! I'll let you all know how it swims tomorrow.

If it swims well, do you think you'll just keep that one instead of getting another monofin?

If it is any help, the Magictail monofin also fits on the FinFun skins.

This is definitely a "for now" solution. The Dol-fin has some pretty hefty buckles and straps that are really noticeable if you are up close. If my tail was neoprene it might be thick enough to hide them, but they show right through the swimsuit fabric.

As much as I'd like to give the magic tail fins a try, I could buy a whole new finfun, skin and all, for the cost of just the fin and shipping it to Canada. Since finfun now sells replacement parts, I'll just be getting a new insert next pay cheque.

I have one an I really don't care for it to much.

I love my dol-fin monofin, granted I haven't tried any others yet, but I like the power it has, even with little movements you can go quite fast

The only thing I have to compare it to is my Fin Fun monofin
