My Under the Sea Mermaid Co. Tail

I've just ordered my FIRSTsilicone tail from Under the Sea Mermaid Co. I'm so very excited. Here's the design for the new tail. Mermaid Kishiko and I just ran with an idea even though the colors didn't seem like they would look good. Yellow and orange and bright blue

I can't see the photo, but having used the colors myself, yellow, orange and blue can look very good together!

huh I didnt think julz made silicone yet. I knew she announced it, but wasn't sure she'd made any yet. Are you the first silicone tail? At least she's got all the latex experience. I saw her latex tail in person. Good stuff.

Raina, Yes, she is the first Silicone tail that will be made. And I thank you for the compliment on my work you have seen. I look forward to starting this. Silicone tails will not be publicly offered yet through my business page until this one is completed. I want people to be able to see one that I have made before I go and say" HEY! , we are offering silicone!"

I have even shut down latex tail production for new orders until march. Current orders are still in the works.Then it will be opened up for a limited time. I was too in the red with the business and had to cut costs. This is to get us back up and running and to expand our lines for what we offer. I love the design she submitted and can't wait. Silicone and many of the other supplies are on their way to me... This will be a wonderful tail and I am sure that she will enjoy it for many years to come. I thank her for the opportunity to make this dream of hers come true :):yay:

Jaffa that's just the clay mold right now :) it's gonna be silicone

Jaffa, it's not water-based clay. It's oil-based and won't dry out.

No worries! there's no difference between the two clays visually, you didn't know. She's making the original out of the oil base clay that doesn't dry out, should build a wall around the sculpture, and then pour resin into that to make the mold. then she'll flip it over, clean out the clay, and use it to pour in the silicone. Positives and negatives and trying to remember which one does what, it's easy to get confused

Gem, after you get this, whether or not my tail has been taken in, we HAVE to go swimming. Sylvan beach is awesome, it's cleaner, water is clearer, and NO SEAWEED. :D It's where i went all last summer. And scared the poodles out of my sister and friends by grabbing their ankles....honestly, they should have known it was me. XD

So, time to get a little passive aggressive here. This is MY tail and I've put as much work in as Kishiko. We came up with design together. Now she is the artist and an amazing designer and I love her and couldn't have done this without her, but WE came up with this tail TOGETHER. But Julz is still amazing and she's very quick to respond and she keeps me very well updated.

Yeah uncool dude. This is Gem's tail, made very clear by the post. Yes I put her ideas into a design but she made all the Decisions about it, color scheme, color placement, etc. She has put in so much work on it

yeah, they are the brains behind this... me, I am just the sweat and tears and blood department.... aka, the loving laborer! I have hit a few snags along the way, but with the compassionate understanding of my client, I keep striving forward. Today is the day we remove the mold from the sculpt. Hey everyone, I was asked to update everyone with pics of the fluke. I've been moving cross country and had a death in the family, so I fell behind. Now I am waiting on her measurements so I can go ahead and get the body of this tail made. So, here are the pics of the fluke.... The last pic the halves are just laying on each other.

I had the EXACT same reaction when I saw the hips on my tail, lol! Mine fits perfectly, but everytime I put it on I take a moment to marvel at the actual size of my tush compared to what I picture in my head.

!!!!!! Wow it's beautiful!!! When I did my body double I thought it was too big too, it's something about seeing it from that angle and laid flat. I'm glad it fits! I can't wait to see more pics!
