Hey guys! Due to scubastore.com and their massive shipping hike I decided to search out other distributers. They do not have a north american distributer and are looking for one so im checking to see if the company I have qualifies to be one. :)

I am also asking for help with translation for some of these sites. I copy pasted the email to make the links work.

Scubastore and Swim Inn seem to be the same thing. Shipping to Canada from Vieux Plongeur costs 73 Euro, which is about $103 Canadian.

Bubble swimming charges 30 € and 71€ for the fin, making it about 145 cad. Ouch. Good for mers in that area though.

Ive contacted the manufacturer to apply to be the north american distributer. My business partner loves the idea and is all for it. Maybe that way things can be a bit more reasonably priced. Darn worthless canadian money!

I had my neighbors translate kats sote and its 45 ish usd for shipping and 98 for the fin.

Right now im waiting for approval from sommap (the actual manufacturer) to be their north american distributer. Which means no more overseas purchasing!

They get alot of enquiries from the states so they would give my company info to them as well, making it even easier on me. Ive put some feelers out and theres quite the market thats unserviced by current distributors. Id stick to canada and the us and australia since au money is quite on par with canadian money. Shipping will still suck to them, but at least I can offer more methods and not stick to one company like dhl or fedex or ups.

I'd just thought I'd add that the shipping price for Australia has started to decrease. So it started at around $60 then jumped to $152 now it's down to $148. I'm wondering if it's a case of what time of the month you order from them

I just checked and shipping to canada is still the same. And still with only dhl.

Which is actually good for me. I personally feel if your paying for shipping you should get a choice of companies to deliver it. And whether or not you want priority mail. Ive found canada post to be pretty great so far. Ive never had a package ive sent go missing or arrive later then stated. I wish I could give a close price point but it will be in CAD so us mers will end up paying less with their exchange!

Ive got some work left ahead but its so worth it!!!

So I ended up buying it. I know it probably would've been better to wait until you were able to sell them Jamie, but I'm going away in a couple of weeks and I wanted it to get used to how it handles. Paper work! So much paperwork. I am awaiting my approval for an import/export license from the usa. As its sits right now, im only legally allowed to sell Inside canada.

I wont know how much shipping is until after I have the fins and can check specs and get quotes.

There isnt enough people wanting them inside of canada to make the minimum order worth it. I shouldnt have an issue with approval since ive proven I am not taking work from an american but with the US it could take a while. I wish I was able to help everyone sooner.

Wanted to keep this updated. Due to my husbands very sudden layoff from the failing oilfield industry I had to push back my stock purchase. With the banning of tails left and right in canada and lack of us approval I cannot say for sure when I will have some in.
