I want to make a version of Disney's Ariel- the mermaid- meet and greet / Fantasmic.
I found some sequined fabric that could work great for it, but it is weird and double sided. if you run your hands down it- it looks green and normal. But if you go the opposite way it is a dingy color. I also was toying with the idea that it could be swimmable... but it may just be more of a dry even type of thing.
What do you guys think?

here is the fabric I found

As you can see when it is facing the 'normal' way it looks fine, but when you run your hand along it and push the sequins backward it looks weird.
Construction:
I was thinking of constructing it by using the sequined fabric as the outside, but having a inside 'sleeve/sock' where the monofin would be kept and covered. The same way that this seller does it :

And having the 'show' fluke snap or something around it so that it is sealed in there. But I would use a cut competitor monofin I bought off here a while ago as the fluke base. So that it would be big and pretty.
The more I think of it the more I think it should just be a dry appearance tail- do to all the fabric, it might not be a good idea to put it in the water... Ideas? Comments? Help?
