View Full Version : Things to not do when getting a new tail...

So I was the buyer for one of the used tails Raven was selling. I have made my own tails before, but they're in New York (with the majority of my stuff) and in dire need of TLC and updating. Anyway, I thought it'd be ridiculous to be living in Hawaii without a tail and the opportunity came up and worked out. Raven's work is gorgeous, as expected. I was scared I wasn't going to fit in at first - this is the first fully functional silicone tail I have owned. Mermaid Harmony told me the trick of rolling the tail down first though (probably struggled with it for two days beforehand).

So what do I do after I finally get it over my giant hips?

...

I swim 1.08km in it "just to test it out". Ugh. Ridiculous. Anyway it was a good time. Luckily it was low tide and it wasn't too deep. But I swam to Chinaman's Hat in Hawaii and back. It was pretty cool. Entertained a few tourists. Had a good time. Ate malasadas to celebrate. :) Here's a photo of me being completely wiped out after. And from not being a swimmer lol.

Wow, swimming from the point to Chinaman's Hat and back is a big mer-complishment! You definitely earned your malasada :yay:

I felt the same way the first ten times I swam in my silicone tail. And then you get that wonderful "leg day" burning feeling for the next 2-3 days haha.

I'm super jealous of your tail though. [emoji7]
