So I keep getting hits on my website and FB from tvtropes.org but I'm not sure what the site it?
I found myself mentioned on this link when you click "real life" http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SeashellBra

Many companies that make swimwear have marketed actual bikinis with tops like this. Such swimwear tends to be very expensive, and usually isn't the type you should actually swim in.
Raina the Halifax Mermaidhttp://static.mediatropes.info/pmwiki/pub/external_link.gif (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Raina-the-Halifax-Mermaid/183327321702019) wears a seashell bra during most of her appearances, but in later days has started wearing one made from an octopus. According to her, little kids were fascinated by it (not in that way!), poking it to see if it was real (it isn't).

Anyone know what this site is and who put me on there? Haha...

TV Tropes is where you go if you want to spend hours and hours learning which cliches your favorite movies and TV shows use and/or subvert. For example, there's a trope called "Our mermaids are different (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OurMermaidsAreDifferent)," which refers to a tendency for modern TV and movies to put their own spin on the classic mermaid myth (woman on top, fish on the bottom, that's it) to make it special (ie Splash, where they can transform into human and H2O, in which they're humans who have transformed).

I think fans can edit individual pages but I'm not sure.

Basically, the idea of the site is showing repetitions of ideas, or "tropes," in various forms of media. Anyone can add to the website, and nothing is considered too obscure. I like looking up pieces of media that I enjoyed, then going through and finding the tropes I found to be interesting, then finding new books, TV shows, movies and comics from there.

That seems kinda cool but also a little weird that you have no idea on where that info came from. Haha! At least it isn't something offensive.

TV Tropes is actually fabulous. It's great tool for fiction writers for identifying tropes, when not to use them, when TO use them, and how to use them well. They're probably just using you as a real life example for mermaids and mermaid wear.
