I thought I had seen this posted somewhere around here before, but I guess not. Someone posted in the merfolk of color facebook page about this amazing mermaid movie that is raising funds for production and I was so happy to see it featured a mermaid of color! (if you see me around the forum a lot, you may know how important diversity and seeing mers that look like me is to me)

Here's the page https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-water-phoenix

Here's the video if you don't want to click over or can't (like if you're on mobile or something)

and the concept art (not all of them, only the ones I really like)

Sorry about how large they are. I'm just sad I couldn't post this (or that there wasn't another I could find here) in time before there was only 16 days left. But the rewards are pretty sweet. Also thought I'd mention it's going to be live action

There's also a google hangout tomorrow with Mermaid Linden and Kariel

This movie still hasn't been released :( They do seem to still be working on it with behind the scenes photos on their facebook

But they don't have any behind the scenes videos (which I would prefer more than pictures, or at least pictures of the mermaid in the water or stills from the movie in production)

i'm kind of curious about the progress of this movie. I have not heard to much but supported around $300 in the crowdfunding campaign.

I think they need a better public media or representative person. Mousy of their social media is filed with posts they share from other pages which would be okay if they had just as much original content posted. They need to show at least some parts of the movie or raw footage or behind the scenes so wet know that the movie is still in production and where is at in production.

And by engaging their audience they'll keep people interested for much longer
