What's Your Mer Story?

So, I figured all of you have some pretty cool stories/backgrounds regarding your Mer-sona! I would love to hear them...is your mer royalty? A pauper? An alien being? Where did they come from? Did they become a mermaid/merman, or were they born one? Do they have family?

So what's your story? :)

My mersona story is a generally this for my original tails: someone dumped into a nearby river because she didn't stay small enough for her tank. And instead of taking her somewhere to get a new forever home she was abandoned.

Since people releasing alien species of fish in the Tennessee River has been an issue it seemed right. I can teach children why it's bad to let animals of all sorts go and how doing so can ruin the balance. People abandon their Goldfish, Catfish and plecos all the time. We even had RedBellied Pacu's get pulled out of the river. It's really disheartening.

I edit this for my magikarp tail I wish to make. And doesn't apply to my cosplay tails on my wishlist. But, my freshwater Chiclid tail in the works, redtail catfish tail, and so on I use this story. :O I think this is my first time posting my sona's story though.

I don't have anything too specific, other than that Princess Pearl lives in the local harbour in Lake Ontario. She likes to swim in pools because the lake is cold.

i have a few mer stories for my few mersonas.

The first one is tribute to my name Seaglass (which happens to be a pagan name that my friend gave me). She's a tiny little pondfish mermaid who collects Seaglass along the shores of lake ontario and lives like a hermit. She doesn't particularly like the fact that garbage is dumped into her home but will collect the seaglass to make a home out of it. Her own little castle of glass.
So she pretty much tries to find the beauty in everything (even garbage) and more or less teaches people to reuse/upcycle their garbage.

The second one was one i had been running with at the beginning but decided not to since it was more for my metal mersona back when i was "in a band" (look at my profile picture for reference).
It's about a girl who lost her sister in a freak accident. they were both sirens. one would have been me with red hair and a dark blue mermaid tail+corset (i posted the corset up somewhere in the forum), and the other would've been the "dead twin sister" in a while tail and angel wings. i scrapped the idea altogether but i ended up keeping the corset for photoshoots. :P

The third one is a recent one based on my friend's recurring dream saga (think star wars, but underwater). It takes place in a post-post-apocalyptic world and everyone lived in city states. society was on the verge of rebuilding itself again so there is a lot of steam punk based on existing science... and there's a lot of fantasy because some humans have evolved to adapt to their surroundings. I'm the ruling queen of state who lives underwater with "powers of persuasion" so to speak, hence they call me the siren because no matter what i would always be able to get people to obey only me :P which is pretty freakin' awesome. in my army i have my friends; one librarian who can commit murder in her sleep because her soul leaves her body, one assassin, one reformed mad scientist who happens to be my husband :P, a metal arm man (backstory, back when steven was a mad scientist, he used the man in an experiment and cut off his arm... which is why he how has a prosthetic metal arm he uses for battles), a pyro fighter who happens to be metal arm man's girlfriend, a nurse who happened to study necromancy, and a woodland elf. and we're all fighting against an evil priest.
My costumes are very very elaborate. :P

I'm just a mermaid from the Caribbean (the water matches my tail) that swam up through Texas to Dallas and I hang around the lakes up here now.

i dont have a mersona quite yet but i have two stories

im also thinking of making a magickarp tail and for that i have this pokemon mermaid story that mermaid are born with defult tails an then arounf teen years once they find thier chosen pokemon thier tail gets based off of it. i was going to make a sotry of it but it was too much but basicly what happens is that this girl is in a family of really awesome water type pokemon for example her older sister is a vaperon mermaid. this girl all her life wuld be playing with magickarp so she got her tail early and disappointed her family with a magikcarp as the chosen pokemon because its supposedly useless so she goes out on a journey to find a way to prove them wrong.

the second story is that its modern times and the mermaid population is close to extinction. so my merson lives with a pod of whales.

I consider merself the reincarnation of the historical Echidna.

She doesn't like humans (who would have guessed huh), but is very caring and protective of her own, which consist of dragons/serpents, seamonsters, and aquatic life in general.

She is now living on the bottom of a certain lake and minding her own business, unless people befoul the water or murder her kin, which does not lighten her mood. :p

I only made mine recently and I don't have a lot of details in it, but I was thinking something along the lines of;
I used to live around Iceland (I picked Iceland because I have blonde hair and blue eyes), but there was a lot of littering and dumping where I lived, so I came to Ireland after hearing about the Clean Coasts project. :)

My Mersona, whom I just call The Sea Mage, was once a human gifted with a rare ability of magic. Because of this he was shunned and outcasted by his family and friends. Feeling down, he jumped into the sea, to what was supposed to be his death. But his powers saved him, giving him a new life beneath the waves. From there he practiced his magic in secret, free and at home forever.
This is actually a part of my stories that I have been writing for a very long time. The Sea Mage is a minor character but still my Mersona. There are tons of more details about him, his powers, the other "true" merpeople and how he differs from them, etc but I am lazy.

I'm part mermaid and part water faerie. I can't stray far from water, but I have the ability to change from tail to legs and back, and to sprout wings. I mostly work with children, so I wrote up a whimsical bio on my website: http://mermaidgalene.com/ (Meet Galene).

Molly Cephalee (Cephalee or Cephie to those she doesn't know well) was human at one point. She was the victim of mad science, and her lower body was changed to that of a giant octopus. She was tossed into the ocean when the scientists got caught, and was rescued by a local mer pod. The mers nursed her back to health and more or less adopted her. The pod Alphas, twin sisters Pearl and Opal, gave her her name, as she only vaguely remembers her life as a human. While she is still close with the mer pod, she mainly keeps to herself now, hanging out on the beach with a few choice mermaids, the local murder of crows, and a Blue Footed Booby with a foot fetish.

I've been thinking a bit of a more reliable (in the sense that I have one solid stable, go-to one) backstory for my mersona. I think I fluctuate between a mermaid who was captured and then sold as an attraction/given as a gift to the Shah, and then kidnapped and left to her own devices or a mermaid that was accidentally beached and then cared for by a pearl-diver in Kish.

I need to justify my love of aash somehow. :D
