We made friends with turtles.

I just love seeing merfolk in the sea. You all look so natural! That's how I feel swimming in the sea in my tail, but I rarely get to do it, since I live in Wisconsin. Ah, well. At least we have lakes.

Love the shots with the turtles. They are one of my favorite critters! Swimming with them is always magical.

Note that Coradion, who is wise in the ways of sea creatures, is keeping a respectful distance away from the turtles. That's not only essential for their wellbeing, it's the law:

It really burns me when I see people crowding or touching turtles on beaches or in the water just so they can snap a photo. On many occasions I have had to calmly inform tourists that what they are doing is detrimental to the welfare of the turtles.

We in the mer community should always set an example for the proper way to behave around sea animals! Kudos to the Hawaiian mer community! :clap:

Yep, you can't touch them. I'm also about five feet above the turtle in that picture. It was pretty massive and I was already 25 feet down or so, picture being taken from the surface. Also turtles bite and have marine leeches on them.

Mermaid Cass and I got to shoot yesterday and it resulted in my getting a really cool opportunity with a swimwear line :D I'll share more info on it when I do the next shoot. I'm stoked. Our photographer Art of Women Hawai'i takes some really awesome shots.
