Monofin help please

Hello :)

I was wondering if anyone in my neck of the woods or Australia, knows a website to get a monofin from?
I have been searching for my first monofin, and I have been looking at the hydra but cannot find one to ship to New Zealand that doesn't cost $120 plus :(
Has anyone found any good sites or places?
I have looked at ebay and amazon, and the shipping seems to be around that amount as well.

Also, I was wondering, for those who have tried the hydra, would it fit my size 8.5-9 feet, which are wider than most.

I really, really, really want to get my first monofin, and I have been researching it for a while now, so I think I might burst if I don't get one ordered soon :eek:

I just got mine. I hear it's good though, but you will need neoprene socks to go with it because it blisters easily. I think there's a review forum if you use the search bar! :D

I have the hydra, I had to ship it from Mexico from the swimmin store though. However someone on here (I will update with the name as soon as I search it, I've forgotten!) is looking to become the North American distributor, and ship for a reasonable price. I have the same sized feet as you (assuming that size is au) and wide feet too, and the hydra fits fine! It's a nice mono fin, just beware your feet are further apart than in other monofins, so you end up with a bulkier ankle area.

I have some legal paperwork hoops to jump through to be able to sell outside canada but because there is no other supplier it shouldnt be an issue since I wont be taking business away from any americans. Im looking into the paperwork for Australia and will add new Zealand to my list.


Im doing everything I can to keep the cost and shipping as low as possible. The price of the fin itself is higher then scubastore but the shipping is nowhere near the same. Im sure I can ship to the us for under 40. I wont have an exact price until my fins arrive and I can box one of each and get info. Canada post so far is the cheapest method based on the dementions and size the triton I ordered was. I paid almost 150 for it from scubastore before they jacked the shipping. And they only ship dhl. I will try to offer most places for shipping based on customer preference. I just wish there wasnt so much paperwork so I can have them already!

Paperwork can be awful to get through, but with committed shoppers (hopefully) you should be able to feel as though it was worth it in the end!

No worries! I know how hard it is to shop for footwear! The hydra is really good for that though, my partners' men's size 9 feet fit in the monofin fine too!
