Making My First Tail!

I'm really excited about this tail, and I hope it works out the way I want it to. Because I have access to such things right now, I'm piecing my tail together from recycled clear rubber bags. Each one is about the size of my entire upper body and I get about four of them every week, so there shouldn't be a question of getting enough material for it, just, if it works the way I'm hoping it will. But sense it's clear I should be able to experiment on the edges of the fins and fluke, maybe make something neat.

Sense I saw an amazing paint job that looked super realistic with these paints done on neoprene before, but there aren't to many colors to actually choose from. And I had a color palette in mind, based on this amazing fish picture I saw, and saved on my phone (sense that's where I found the picture) but then my phone had this weird issue where it kept sending me the EXACT same text message from the EXACT same person every ten minutes for two days tell I did a factory reset on it and so, no more photo and I can't find it again, but don't really want to try making that tail strictly from memory. Which kind of sucks, but, I have time to think over a color palette while I do the actual assembly part.

But I am ordering my Rapid monofin now! I can't wait to get it! And practice, practice, practice in it before actually putting it into the tail sense, I've never swam in a monofin before and don't want to try in full tail, sink to the bottom and die. But that won't happen, probably.

My Finis Rapid came in the mail Monday! It was so exciting to get out of the box and now I can start measuring and cutting out the base of the tail and staring to work on the fins, I'm designing a Mandarin tail and getting the color sketch done before I get to the fluke and fin shaping though. So I know exactly how it should look. I'm hoping this will work as well as it does in my head! But I have a lot of colors to properly imitate a mandarin's colors and patterns.

Annnd, figuring out exactly how the whole painting thing will work, I haven't really used these paints before, but have seen them make some lovely scales in the past, experimentation shall be fun.
