I had my 5,7 friend wear it, it just sat low on her waist. As long as you don't mind it being under your bellybutton, you would probably be fine.

I don't really know how to measure it accurately. But with it's stretchyness, measurements don't seem to matter too much as long as your close to a small - medium pant size. It was made for me, a size 3, but also fits my size 8 friends. As long as she falls within that size group, is under 5,5 and has small feet, it should work for her.

It is still full silicone, so there is weight to the fluke, but it's not too heavy to lift. But it is floppy, there isn't much stiffness so you wouldn't be able to lift it out of the water like you would a monofin tail. You can lift it while laying on your stomach but just need to do it fast so the fluke flops forward.

How do your legs stay in the foot pockets? I mean do they often slip away when trying to lift the fluke, or is there some kind of straps or how it works? I guess its just the fact that the tail is tight like a second skin, it doesnt come off. But I am used to swimming without straps, so Im not sure how others would feel. The other girls who have worn my tail and have also worn tails with straps have not had any trouble swimming in this tail, its just different and may take getting used to if you are used to straps.

If she can wear a size small stretch pants she would probably be fine but she sounds really tiny, it might be a tad too big if she is like a size 0/1.

So generally in auctions not necessarily with a tail but anything on E-bay, a seller like Blue Mermaid has a price that she would like it to be sold at in order for her to make money or recoup the funds she bought the tail at, however she may not disclose that information to the public in order to see where the auction will go and how much interest is shown. Essentially she doesn't want to be shorted funds and lose money when selling her tail. This goes with anything like I said from toys to cars to collector items. Generally the more expensive the item is, there will be a reserve bid on the item. Also when you find "buy it now" costs, those prices are above what the reserve bid would be so the seller will make money on that item. I hope that helps.

Due to it's discoloration, peeling paint, and sewn and patched holes. You certainly could use it professionally if you wanted to, but due to it's issues, you probably wouldn't want to.

Hard to say for sure, but I would think yes. If you have trouble getting it over your bum, you could try wearing a thong and putting conditioner on it to slide it over much easier. That is what my friend did and it worked for her.

It was packed nicely & I enjoyed the note.
I started doing the running man when I opened it.
No, seriously...
I will take expert care of it.


This is a replacement tail until I can one day afford a
new one. (Hopefully not too far in the future)
My feet are too big so it cuts off circulation but it's so worth it.
Besides the feet thing it literally feels like it's part of me.
Sadly, I can't say my other one makes me feel that way as this one
actually FITS. The top part fits amazingly & feels so comfortable.
Even when I do get a customized one, I don't know if I could
part with this one or my old one. I'm thinking it would look so cool in 20 years
just hanging on my wall next to my first tail. :P

An artist friend of mine is striving to give her a new paint job & it would look brand spanking new afterwards.
I was planning on reading all of the threads with her including any details
about tail painting & possibly contacting Mike if need be.
Just need Pearlx & silicone (and whatever else secret ingredient or someshit). If anyone could point me in the direction
of good threads about painting a silicone tail, I would be greatful. (:

It's true, FlipTails are one of the best out there. Hard to get one, but they are well made.

Try putting one foot on top of the other, that is how my other friends wore it who had larger feet.

This tail was repainted once but the paint didn't adhere permanently and peeled off. Unfortunately you can't repaint old tails. If that was possible, I totally would have done that and kept it. But the new silicone won't adhere to the old. It might for a short time, but it doesn't last long and then you have paint falling off everywhere and a patchy tail. Me and the Mernation team spent weeks peeling paint off that tail because the way the paint was flaking off, it looked terrible. FlipTails was able to fix the holes but no silicone paint would stick to it. Even my Merbella tail, which is much newer, new silicone paint won't stick to it. I had professional tail makers trying to repaint them, it doesn't work :(
So it's up to you if you want to try it, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. That is why I sold it as a hobby tail or photography tail. As you can see from your beautiful pic, it is still great for that! Let me know if you have any other questions or issues, I will do my best to help you with them!
