Need help on a worn down fabric tail!!

So my first ever tail I made and own is a spandex tail. its been great and though its had its first hole. i just added a little birthmark to it to cover it up. but after my last swim i noticed the fluke is having alot of wear spots. the shine on it is coming off and sadly i dont know what to do other than make a new tail. but money says no so i was wondering if anyone knew ways to fix it up?

A lot of people give new life to fabric tails by adding sequins to them :)

its not so much the body im worried about right now as the fluke itself. thats what gets worn down allot from scraping and all that x.x

I sewed patches on the wear points, but they were quickly worn through too... I think spandex tails just aren't very durable. I've been working on adjusting my swimming to avoid scraping (this is my kid'a tail--she is rough on it!). As you can see, I'll be replacing them again soon!

My spandex tail has also lost its shine/ gained wear and holes due to standing/chlorine pools :(. I know how it feels to have a worn down tail. Re enforce the stitching by doubling the thread, and make two seams. It will make the existing tail stronger. Hope that helps :)

Hope that helps :) i'll have to do that. its the fabric itself that is wearing down to. i have a mahina fin and where the edges of it are like on the top and where the feet pockets are, the fabric itself is wearing down.

Start training yourself not to stand on your tail. If you feel tired, just flop over and float on your back.

Though sometimes its the fabric itself. I have plain lycra that I bought from the non swimming section, and it has faded a lot after one swim and is worn out where the Finis Foil's back ridges are.

That looks similar a Fin Fun mono fin, the wear may also be because the friction between the edges of the plastic part of the mono fin (if it has one) , and the material. if it has sharp edges, file down the sharp corners or edges of the mono fin, but not to the point of reshaping the fluke. Hope that works too :)
