Hello! I'ts Kernow Mermaid here (Emily)

I am currently working on a latex mermaid tail to replace my fabric tail. It's going awesomely! However there are a few things puzzling me.
How would I go about attaching the heel fins and dorsal?

I thought I would start this thread because some of you guys are experts! So if I have any issues along the way, I can get advice from you amazing people!

This is my tail so far, It's latex scales on a Lycra base? (Excuse the mess :S)

Thank you!any advice would be awesome!

I don't know anything about latex tailmaking but I just wanted to pop in and say that your tail is SO FRICKIN' CUTE OMG. I love the colors, the fluke shape, those little spots... [emoji7]

If you ever make them to sell once you get the hang of latex, count me in!

Same as above I don't really know much either about latex tail making...however I have seen a few people on here say they've used methods as simple as just hand sewing their extra fins onto their tails which apparently makes them stronger (although Idk if that's just with silicone you'd have to ask someone who's REALLY into the subject)

I follow you on tumblr and when I saw 'Kernow' I thought maybe it was someone from America or what not just using the word...now I see I must have been wrong!! Glad to see another UK Mer on here :D just wanted to pop in and say hi!! Also that your tail is gorgeous so fa!! dat fluke is just <3333 LOVE!

If you don't mind, I might pop you a PM at some point as crafting a tail out of latex is something I've been considering for a while and would love to know where you got supplies, how you started etc! So many questions hehe :)

Thank you! :') This tail has taken me months to make. If I can find a way of speeding up the process, I would definitely consider making and selling tails! I have so many ideas in my head that I'm dying to bring to life. If only i had a little more money and a studio haha :P

Oh I didn't think of that :P I think I'm gunna make a few samples and try a few things out to see what works best. :) haha thanks! and yeah I'm from Cornwall that's why I call myself Kernow Mermaid :)

Sure, I'd be happy to help, I'm no expert but I have learnt a lot about working with latex from this project! :) I'm sure I could answer any questions you got.

Iv'e used it about 5 times, but it's already showing signs of wear! :( I'm so worried It won't last as long as I'd expected.
