Does it work well? What kind of paint it needed? Any tips?

I've been doing some research on this! I'm planning to make a scale print fabric tail with a painted fluke... I'm just waiting for the fabric to arrive. I've read that you can mix acrylic paints with fabric medium to paint fabrics, but I'm not sure how this technique will stand up to swimming and the stretchy fabric. I'm going to try it though!

Well you have to stretch the fabric into shape before painting it, often people do this by stuffing the tail with pillows etc. This is bc spandex stretches but paint limits the stretch. If you paint before you see it, you have a higher chance of messing up the sizing and will have some visible seams. You can see how mine worked out here 28782
you can't really see the seams because of how I painted. I used tulip fabric paint and I used fishnet as a stencil. It will peel eventually if it's thick like mine, but considering how cheap my tail was to make, I dont mind lol. Good luck!

Has anyone tried using an airbrush to paint a spandex tail? If so, paint suggestions? I am getting ready to finally make my first tail and am researching color and painting options.
