Mermaid Dreams

Ever since I became a mer, I've been getting vivid mermaid-related dreams every now and then.

There have been many where I've swam around in the deep and met other mermaids. One of my favorites was when I washed up on a desert island where I met a really hot mermaid and we totally hit it off :eyebrows:

The funniest was last night's where MerNetwork had a secret hideout and we all just came and went as we pleased and talked and swam. There were a couple mermaids in the corner who wouldn't stop laughing about this pair of fins and I'm pretty sure it was Raina and Iona :lol: There was a giant swimming pool that was made to look like the ocean and it went down to the center of the earth...
I personally believe it would be a wonderful investment and we should make it happen as soon as possible.

Yay mermaid dreams!
I've had a couple super vivid dreams as well!
I actually had one when I was reaaallllly little (guess I've been a mermaid since day one XD)
I remember my front yard being filled with a couple feet of water and then opening into the ocean. I was sitting there resting on one of the steps with a long rusty orange tail and long braided hair. I REALLY want to make a tail based on that dream.

I also had this long bizarre dream that I might have shared with a merman friend of mine. It was the STRANGEST dream I've ever had. And when I mean share, I mean, his dream started where mine ended apparently. I remember being mermaid on a mission to get to a specific stone. And our dreams shared some basic and very specific themes. There was a girl in a dress and hat with a ribbon and long blonde hair I think. And I was trying to get to a land filled with marbles, and in his dream the same girl had a bag of marbles. And there was a black wooden pier on a white sand beach, and a huge storm that made me wash up on said beach. His dream had a mermaid washed up on the same beach if I remember correctly.

And last night I had a dream where I was on trip, we were on a train on a bridge that went over a beach, and I remember looking down and seeing a mernetwork member swimming in their tail and I called to them and said "Hi nice to see you again!!"
And that's how it ended!

I had dreams about the ocean and deep lakes all my life.
Of encountering orcas, whales, giant sharks (which freak me out), and swimming with dolphin pods (which is wonderful).

Since I became a mer, I've dreamed more often of myself with a tail.
Some dreams were incredible, magical, frightening. I wrote them down, and will eventually incorporate them into the books I'm writing ;)

But most of the time, my mer-dreams go like this:
I'm on a ship which sinks, and I'm stuck inside or below and can't get to the surface (or alternatively, I'm somewhere stuck underwater/someone tries to drown me).
And in the last seconds before I drown, I'm like,
"oh wait, I'm a mermaid!".
And then I simply swoosh out my tail which is suddenly there, and dart off.

Noteworthy:
water in my dreams feels always nice, even if it's cold, but I don't feel the cold.
And I'm usually not swimming with a normal dolphin kick.
It feels very different with a "real" tail. Almost like having a propeller lol!

Ooh, I forgot this one.
I dreamt that I went to a mermaid convention but when I got there, my tail disappeared and I couldn't find it! I was really sad until a a nice tailmaker made me the most amazing silicone tail in about five minutes for free. I was overjoyed and the I went ahead swimming with everyone.

I was really sad in the morning because a) I never went to the convention and b) My dream tail wasn't real :cry:
Oh well, someday!

I had one recently where I was moving a sofa underwater in a realistic non fabric tail. The flat where I lived was one of my cousin's real flat, and the whole country was flooded meters deep!

I had one where I was a neverland mermaid and we were all complaining about Wendy taking all of Peters attention, HA! They were my favorite mers as a child, before aquamarine came out that is!

I've also dreamt that I was swimming in the sea with sharks, they were like my guardians or something, looking out for me:)

I have mermaid dreams pretty much every time I dream since I discovered MN... Sometimes they're nice and I'm swimming in a pool with other MN members, or in natural water with wildlife, but sometimes I'm stuck in a tank or a small pool and it sucks... Especially when in some dreams I can't turn my tail back into legs, so I'm really stuck in the middle of dry land in a bitty tank... ;_; Those ones are scary and I refuse to go back to sleep after I wake up from them.

I often have had dreams where I swim through the air. Not flying, but actually dolphin kicking like I do in the water. Sometimes it's after jumping off something high, sometimes it's just my general mode of transportation getting around in a dream that's otherwise unrelated.

I still remember this weird dream from a few months ago;
So, me and my friend stepped into this beautiful, but dimly lit, mansion. We looked around the foyer and saw nothing interesting, then I looked again, and, sitting in a tiny 3-ring kiddy pool, was a mermaid. I think It was Lyla from Mako Mermaids. And then me and my friend suddenly were mermaids sitting in tiny kiddy pools too, like they were a rubber ring at a pool. And we did I don't know what because my dream kind of skipped over that part, but then my friend got all upset about something and hopped away, still with a tail, still in the kiddy pool, water sloshing EVERYWHERE.

My most recent mermaid dream was of me and Kishi. We had the exact same color tail, and we went on vacation together. Then while on this cruise, I fell overboard and realized I was a mermaid. So I went swimming. The boat searched for me and found me, and Kishiko jumped in after me, also turning into a mermaid. Then the boat started to try and catch us with nets, so we swam off to the ocean.

I have vivid mermaid dreams all the time, as well as lucid dreams. One I had a few weeks ago has stuck with me though.

The world had been flooded due to the polar icecaps melting. People were forced to live on floating caravans that were roped together in small communities, so that you wouldn't float away from your family members and neighbours. I lived in a caravan with three friends that was floating above an old supermarket and we started to release that we could dive deeper and swim faster than the people around us, we weren't affected by pressure. One time I was retrieving a pair of sunglasses from the seafloor for my friend (they belonged to her mother who drowned in the flood) when I accidentally breathed in. It was then that I realised I could breathe underwater and was starting to turn into a mermaid with scales forming on my legs. Soon after, my friends experienced the same changes and we were discovered by a radical scientific research group who wanted to capture my friends and I to experiment on us because we were the first of the merfolk species.

The dream didn't come to a conclusion before I woke up so I have no idea what happened next
