Making clay scales again! I found the circle clay cutters and my shells.
I'm using three sizes of circle clay cutters to make my scales.

Also it's so warm in my house so my clay is super soft. My dad didn't turn on the air conditioning today so I'm staying cool with this little desk fan.

M'Kay! A little bit of an update!
I'm saving up for my silicone, I'm going to start with one set of Dragon Skin 10 and work on making all the scales, I might just buy everything together it just depends on how much in my coming up paycheck.
Currently I have $155 in my savings!

Hold on tight, I'm going to do a bit of rambling and just thinking in this post:
Okay so, I kinda spent all but $25 in my savings account. That is SUPER bad of me!!!! Mostly because I was saving that money for silicone and resin. But here is the thing I've been pondering and obsessively thinking about: I really want to make my silicone tail like RIGHT now and wear it to the Renaissance Farie which is October 15th-16th. Yet I don't have enough money without asking my parents for a majorly huge loan and I even wondering if I'm going to have enough time to make it.
*Side note: I still have to make like 20 - 30 more scale molds then cast a billion scales and sculpt my fluke then casting my fluke and assemble and paint everything.
So like calculating the cost to finish making my tail is going to be about $800 rounded up and giving an extra $100 for random things.
But not only do i want to make this tail for the Faire, I want to use it to start my mermaid business. I'm really trying not to stress out/worry about this.

So once my tail is done, I'm going to be making a tail for my best friend, she loves the idea of mermaiding and totally wants me to make her a tail and help her learn how to swim with a monofin! I'm first going to make her a monofin and then once she learns how to use it I'll make her a fabric tail then once she's totally ready I'll make her a silicone tail!

I'm looking forward to the painting of your tail, I'm starting a silicone top and plan to paint it when it is done. I'm a little nervous about this process. How are you going to thin the Silicone? Are you going to spray paint your tail?

I don't plan on thinning my silicone, I'm just going to hand paint the tail once it's together. I'm tinting the silicone white first then painting with regular silicone colored with multiple shades of green, or I'm just going to color the silicone and then cast the scales, but I would prefer to color the silicone white then paint with the color tinted silicone.

I decided to go with a pattern like the h20/mako mermaid tails but greens, yellows and a bit of purple to give it an Ariel theme.
