Mermaid Angel Splash, new and excited to be here!

Hi everyone! =^.^= my mermaid name is Angel Splash. My two legged name is Helen. I currently only have a fabric tail with a mono fin. I am currently saving for my first basic silicone tail by Erik the mertailor. My goal is to have it by next summer. I used to live in California and recently moved to Missouri and would love to meet and swim with fellow mermaids ^_^ I'm currently in Lawson, day job in liberty. I am so excited to finially be on mernetwork. I'm constantly looking for ideas on my silicone tail, color scheme. Mew. Oh and I'm kinda a cat fish lol =^.^=

Don't worry about the naysayers, Angel Splash. The partial silicone tail from Mertailor is one of his best sellers and he has improved his techniques over the years.

I own a Mertailor full silicone tail and I can vouch for the quality.

Regardless of being a best seller, it's still made with neoprin which just won't hold up to long term use.

Some people, like you, have had fantastic experiences with him but others have been disappointed with his customer service and received sloppy tails. Never hurts to do some research before investing a lot of money :)

Ya I was reading the reviews and it was kinda sad on all the unhappy merfolk. I will take my time in making sure that's the route I want to go. Cuz I really would love to have a full silicone tail. And if the basic is actually neoprene... Well that's not what I'm looking for. You all are so very helpful thank you =^.^=

The basic silicone is neoPRIN (its two pieces of foam like material held together with fibers that stretches out easily) not quite neoprene, covered with silicone, as opposed to full silicone which is just silicone or silicone backed with mesh for strength

I have seen those tails be great and not so great. It will hold up for a while but eventually loses elasticity. The newer ones have scales which is nice and seem to be thicker and more sturdy. They're good tails, I think, for the price, which is hard to beat. But there is a bit of a gamble involved. Think of it as the made in China of mermaid tails ;) Oh and welcome to mernetwork!
