I bought my Mahina MerFin on eBay two years ago (jeeze, time flies). At the time, I thought my feet were done growing. Turns out I was wrong. :P

Original thread here: http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?4455-Oceanika-Merfin-selling-on-Ebay!!&highlight=oceanika+ebay

The fin was made before the switch to Mahina MerFins, so it still says Oceanika. I'd say I've used it about 40 times and the previous owner had only used it about 3 times. The little ribbon of rubber in the V of the fin has been cut. I would describe it as "like new" or "very good" as it is completely functional with no real issues to it. It still swims exactly like when I first got it.

There are some black paint spots on the back of the fluke that will probably come off with time, I'm not sure how I ended up getting them on there but I suppose it got in the way at some point. It's scuffed along the edges so there are visible scratches. I have not cut or altered the foot pocket in any way.

Originally purchased for $125, back when the fins cost $150.
Asking $80 for it (or best offer), I'm not sure how much shipping could be for it but I paid $10 for it so I'm certain I can keep it under $20 within the US.

Feel free to ask any questions. :)

I'm very interested!! I live in the US, so the total would be $90?

I definitely think I can keep the shipping between $10-$20. I won't know the exact price until I box it up though.

Oh okay! Well my sister just found that we can buy a new one for just about $20 more so I think we might go with that! Thank you though and good luck!!

Hello!
I am interested in your mahina mermaid monofin. I am learning to use one for the first time. I am wondering if you would consider taking 65 plus shipping? I live in Minnesota.
Thanks!
Lydia

I'm eyeing this. I have been for a while. It would fit me too. Question is, how do I pay?

Hey! I'm back home now and unpacking. I can take PayPal, as my sister runs an Etsy with it and is very familiar with it. :)

We boxed it up today and are planning to go this week and see how much the shipping will be. :)

I took the box to a shipping place nearby and shipping would be $25 if to California, maybe less if you're closer to FL. Shipping has gone up since I bought it, unfortunately.

Hi there! Is this fin still available? I've been researching these and I'm torn between ordering a kid's medium or the adult small size fin, according to their size chart it looks like I'll have a roomy fit in an adult small and hope that I can fix it by wearing socks. Anyway, I live in PA and was just curious about what is the lowest you'd go for selling this. I realize it works fine, just a little worn cosmetically, but if it's going to cost +$80 used I'll definitely opt for ordering a new one. Thanks so much!!

Hey! It's still available. The fin is boxed up right now and shipping would be under $25 to Pennsylvania. :) I haven't heard back from MerFairyMaiden but I'd be willing to take $65 for it.

Okay, thanks for the super fast reply! $65 shipped or $65 plus shipping?
I'm going to go and measure my feet one more time... Do you remember what size shoe you were wearing when you bought this? I'm more concerned with the comfort of the ankle strap than anything. Mahina's website shows the foot pockets between sizes to be incredibly close in measurements. o_o I'm really torn between this or a kid's fin... lol. Again, thanks!

$65 plus shipping.

My feet are about an 8.5 now but I wore maybe 7.5-8. Foot sizing is so unreliable I usually go off the measurements when buying anything for my feet tbh. :/ My main issue with the sizing on the fin is that my second toe is much longer than my first bit toe and the end of the fin squished it down so bad I couldn't take it. My feet are weird shaped. :P

Hi, thanks again for your fast reply. I wasn't home the other day to reply to you.
I totally sympathize on the issue of shoe sizing. Why on earth isn't it a standardized thing to go by actual measurements? The Japanese seem to have it best, shoe size = real cm length! The Mahina website gives measurements of the foot pockets, question is how accurate they are, where my toes are going to meet the "drain holes" in the toe box of the pockets (my 2nd toe is slightly longer than my big toe, too!) and where the strap sits on my ankles. I'm sad that there is only a 3mm - 3mm! - difference in width between child and adult sizes. That may be the deal breaker for me on this fin, as my feet don't like to be squeezed.

Anyway, I'm rambling. I went ahead and ordered the Sunset Orange Kid's Medium fin on Zulily (http://www.zulily.com/invite/rnuzzo787) because it was way too good of a deal to ignore - $42.34 shipped! (And yes if anyone uses that link to sign up for Zulily I'll get a store credit if/when you buy something... thanks!) They don't accept returns but if the fin doesn't work for me, I know someone with smaller feet who will use it. I figure I'll either be able to make a kid's fin work, or be able to tell if the Adult Small is a viable solution.

So, if someone is interested in buying your Merfin, don't put it on hold for me! If the child's fin is too small for me and yours is still available, I may consider purchasing it later. =D

Aha! A fellow "Morton Toe" lol.

Wow, jeeze, what a deal. I wouldn't pass that up either. I might post it on eBay, see if that gives me any luck. Thanks. :)

Yes! I've also heard it called Greek toe or Royal toe... I'm fond of the latter! =D

Yeah, that was just too good, lol. It should be here Friday!! I should do a post about it when it comes, maybe. Seems like a lot of people use Merfin but there isn't too much in detail by way of a diary/first monofin experience... Especially making a kids fin work! Kinda hoping I can use it and love it, but then I'll probably be tempted to order the two smaller sizes for my little friends to borrow and swim with me, lol...

And hey, eBay was one of the first places I looked to see if there were any available 2nd hand!! I checked that first before discovering the Zulily deal. It's definitely the right season to list it here in the states. I wish you the best in selling it. Gotta love rehoming especially bulky and heavy stuff, right?? =P

I'm pretty tempted, I sorta want to cut one up for a fabric tail. I just have like... no money right now. Sad face.
