Greetings from the Puget Sound!

Hello everyone, I'm Kelsey (I decided on JustCOS for here, as it's my boyfriend and my joint cosplay name on Facebook, and it just seemed simpler to keep this together).

I've been a cosplayer since 2002, and a casual swimmer since I could get into the water - both in pools and in the Puget Sound in Washington State (it's always cold, but always fun!)

I have previously made one non-swimable tail for a photoshoot, and I'm currently working on a swimable tail for another one. My monofin and fabrics should be here any day now <3

We'll see if I stick with this mermaiding thing, or if I'm just passing through. But hello either way. :)

There's actually a surprising number of us in the Puget Sound area, we just don't get together terribly often. I'm hoping to hold some meetups over the summer, though, we'll see how it goes.

Ahhh thanks everyone! Sorry, I used to be way better at checking forums than I am now, lol. That photoshoot was a ton of fun, and the next one is being planned for probably next month sometime? For sure we want pool pictures, and we might try for pond/lake pictures (I'm not actually sure what the difference is? lol)

Raayvhen, I think you're right! I was actually down your way just yesterday, taking my mom to work lol.

malinghi, we do all kinds! Mostly anime, but also video games and western stuff (I just recently finished Spider-Gwen and we're finishing up Spider-Man for him). I've been doing it since 2002, and him since 2006 (you're gonna date me, you're gonna be in costume a couple times a year, lol), usually several cons a year and I try to have at least one new thing per con... so.. We've done a lot. I've got our cosplay page as my "Home Page" :)

Nice! There isn't a lot going on down here except Evergreen. (Yep, I'm one of those crazy greeners.) Thankfully the Evergreen pool is tail friendly!

That's good to know! I asked at the Curtis High pool the other day, and monofins are fine for lap swim. She seemed hesitant on the tail (saying I needed to stick to the shallows), so I'll ask again once I've gone a few times with the fin itself. I'm mostly not sure because since it has the monofin, those aren't allowed during free swim, but once the lanes are up it's hard to stick to the shallows? But on the plus side, Curtis switched over to a saltwater filter, so that's nice (and much easier on my hair/skin/eyes).

I got all my fabrics today! I goofed and forgot to get zippers while they were on sale, but I have some house cleaning to do anyway before I start my tail (and my photographer has to get back from Fanime, too, :p )
