Could this idea work for a blended waist?

So I've been thinking a lot about tail colors and blended waists (versus not), and about eventually about it being part of a tail. One of the things that seemed like a good idea in my head is this: instead of trying to match skin-tone with paint for a blended waist (on a high-waist tail, what about just not painting the top bit of scales (a few rows)? That way, the tail color can be blended up into the clear but it will generally match the wearer's skintone (assuming dragonskin silicone or other silicone is clear) and will help the scales blend up into their skin.
It works in my head, but has anyone heard of this or tried this? Or does this sound like something that wouldn't really work?

Unpigmented dragonskin is milky...your skin would show through, but it has an unfinished look.

Yeah I find it is typically white. Jesse left the top of our tail clear but it looks white and doesn't blend at all lol. It has yet to turn yellow though and it is quite old.

Smooth-On's dragonskin doesn't turn brown/yellow for a very long time, now...they have a new formulation.

but it's still white and doesnt really show the skin through it or look blended. Like you said... milky...

actually I tried to find photos showing how not blended it looks but the waist looked so bad every girl I ever put in it wore a belt to cover it LOL

Well, if you knew Pearlie's method of making super clear silicone like on the fluke of her tail it could possibly work. Pearlie's clear silicone is much more clear than that type Jessie used.

Its the same silicone. Pearlie like Raven just has a method ;)
