i had a random idea a few nights ago.
what if you made a neoprene or neoprin tail and makes scales of neoprene or neoprin dipped in or coated in silicone and attached them to the tail
idk just a random idea that i was thinking of idk if it even would work but what do you guys think?

I don't think there would be a way to attach the silicone to the neoprene. But I'm no expert. I think that's just what I've read on here lol.
I think the tail would be so unbelievably buoyant! Although that depends on the thickness of neoprene... As for attaching, I feel like sewing the scales on would be more efficient and last longer.

you cant have silicone curing against neoprene, it inhibits the cure (or so ive read) but its a good idea. maybe each scale on neoprIn, attached to a neoprENE base?

I wouldn't, only certain brands of silicone will cure against neoprene. Most silicones won't cure in the presence of other rubbers.

What about a neoprene tail and the scales be of fabric coated with silicone?

It's still really hard to stick it to your neoprene.

what about just a mesh spacer materiel?

At that point, you might as well just use powermesh and go full silicone. :D

there is NO problems with silicone not curing to neoprene. most neoprene has a fabric coating over the top which is very porous. the Actual rubber is underneath that. Silicone won't cure to rubber but if you buy neoprene from a fabric store or even a rubber store it should be finished neoprene which means that it has a fabric coating over the top.

Don't be so sure. The rubber in neoprene CAN cause cure inhibition issues! ALWAYS TEST FOR COMPATIBILITY.
