True Friendship Heals The Troubled Soul

When I was most active on this forum, I was in a very dark place mentally and emotionally. I was extremely insecure, and felt like I didn't have anyone who really understood me or that I could relate to. Over the past couple years, something wonderful has happened to me: I made a true best friend, not just any friend, but someone who I have so much in common with that it's funny. Just when I thought I was the only asexual mermaid who couldn't swim in the world, I meet through Facebook another openly asexual mermaid lover named Lisa, who also is unable to swim. Knowing I'm not alone in the things that made me feel different was a healing process for my soul. Over the past year and a half, I have not had a single autistic meltdown, and me and her have been able to disagree occasionally without it turning into a big debate or fight. I'm just sharing because I know some people have been curious as to what I've been up to/how I'm doing, and in a word, the answer is HAPPY. This friendship has set me free. I no longer feel totally alone in my issues, I have someone who understands me

Is good to be understood. I found mermen and mermaids in my country last week and I know how good is to have people with you who undestands you.
I was affraid I never would become a true mer alone and I find amazing friends and we have a lot in common, Who knows me from here knows I like a afro-american goddess named Yemanja, and in my country she's very popular, and she's a mermaid. And the mers from my country loves her too and in Yemanja day they gave her a lot of honors with music and It was very beautiful. And we're looking for afro-american aesthetics to mer costumes and jewellry.
I was sad with a long time friend too for being rough with me and saying shit about mermaiding. I totally could not believe and we fought, I start to think about a lot of bad things he was doing since last year, talked about, he would not listened so friendship is over and I was feeling sad until find new supportive people, and they are really lovely and educated and I feel so much better and with friends that did not make me sick.

Once upon a time a young mermaid was all alone in a restless sea of insecurity
She had a wealth of treasures, but her pearls and gold could not give her serenity
She didn't fit in with the other mermaids, no matter how hard she tried
Many days and nights, saltwater tears burst from her stormy eyes
She needed acceptance and love just as much as her gills needed H2o
Then when she least expected it a fellow mermaid smiled at her and said "hello"
They had so much in common it was like they were separated at spawn
Her new best friend went by the name of Lisa Dawn
As the years went by, the two daughters of the seal grew older without growing apart
Under the sea, their story will forever be told as proof that true friendship heals the troubled heart
