Making a sequin tail

Hey guys! So I've been thinking for a while about making a sequin tail for dry events and travelling purposes, and I've finally decided to give it a shot! It's going to be a slow process for me, but I thought it would be cool to make a thread throughout the process..

Also I need help lol. What type of needles/thread to use? what sequins (ccartwright) have the best pigment? My tail is going to be very light in color, white with touches of other colors, so I need to know which kind of shell sequin is most colored. Also how to sew the sequins into the neoprene? I'm not very experienced in this stuff but any tips is highly appreciated! !

don't use hologram sequins! You'll regret it they don't last more than one swim.
