I was sick 2 weeks ago. I got better. Then last night I was feeling sick again and woke up with a throat so sore I don't even remember how long it's been since it was this sore. Went to the doctor, I don't have strep but I am pretty sure I have a virus.
I feel awful. My head is feeling worse too.
I have a party tomorrow that I just canceled. It's the first party I've had to cancel and the family already had to reschedule once before because the mom was in an ATV accident.
I feel AWFUL. All I can think about it how disappointed that little girl is gonna be. Ugh I feel awful. Inside and out ha.
Please help :cry::crying::sad eyes:

I've never had to do it before, so I don't really have any advice. But I can say that it's better to cancel than to feel awful and possibly give a disappointing performance, plus you could end up giving it to the birthday girl and/or the rest of the kids/people there. It really is for the best, even if it feels super sucky. I'm sure the parents realize too that you're only human, and things happen, and that it really is for the best that you cancel. Hopefully they explain that to their little girl as well. You did the right thing! :hug:

Thank you so much for your support ladies. I really appreciate it. The sister (who was throwing the party) was very understanding and said they will go ahead with the birthday party but they have cookout summer parties all the time and would love for me to come another time. She was very very kind.
And you're right Iona, I did do the right thing cause I would hate to get anyone else sick. And I have an event Saturday that would bum me out if I had to miss as well so I probably really just need to take tomorrow and get better before Saturday. Thanks again for the help. You guys are the best <3

You could try and see if another mer would do it? This year I kept getting sick for a month straight and when I had my events coming up I was on new anti-biotics so I thought I'd be good to go but not so much :( Went back to the doctor 3 days later and I had a sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, and strept so needless to say I couldn't do the events so I got newer stronger meds and asked Sirena if she could do them. Getting sick sucks and it's pretty much out of your control :(

Luckily, I've got a few other performers in my area who can pick up gigs that I can't attend. I'd try to see if in the future you can get a friend to borrow your tail.
