There is an ongoing wolf-cull in British Columbia:

Industry has destroyed vast expanses of land, diminishing animal numbers, and now the wolves are blamed for it.
(Gotta love that human logic.)

You'll really love the tapeworms they carry. Requires surgery to get rid of as meds don't work on it! And those are the wolves the US used to re-establish wolf populations!
