I am back. I love that song and I love the T-shirt ideas!!!! I am still having trouble connecting the verses to the mythical creatures thing. I'll read it again in the morning when I have had more sleep. I was up working on my tail. Thanks for checking out my progress guys! I'm super excited about it and going to spend all day tomorrow on it to try and get it done for my Friday meet up. This discussion has actually inspired me to make a small addition to my tail. ;)
Dude!!! We should make a music video to that song!!!!

I'm glad you like the Tshirt ideas! : D
RedBubble is proving to be a pain, but I'll get there eventually!
And it's okay if you can't find a connection to the verses! There are so many verses that speak of the ocean, the seas, water, and more, but the four I listed seemed pretty obvious to me, so I chose those to post here.
I can't wait to see the result of your tail! You're blessed with amazing skills and I am excited every time I see the pictures!
The addition is probably going to be epic, too !!!
My fiance also says he adores it and says it looks fantastic, even though he doesn't like purple. So, good use of purple! ; )
I'd love to make a music video to that song !!! It'd be so epic : D
What this all comes down to: The earth (and the sea) is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof. He has sovereign control over all life and creation, and all things can give Him glory. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it as unto the Lord, including mermaiding.
Rebela, Joie and Izzy, I am LOVING your passion here. Faith, thanks for linking Oceans! You guys are awesome.
Yes, exactly MerGreg ! I'd love to somehow promote that we live in a world made good by God, like he said in Genesis!
I'm glad that I'm starting to find some ways to glorify Him when I mermaid. It's lifting my spirits higher and higher each day!
Than you very much for the compliment <3
You're pretty awesome, too, MerGreg! ; D

I am choosing not to go to PM. with thiz because the way you have brushed it off and tried to seperate yourself from it was rude af. And again i will say it, demanding people not to talk about something that offends them is not the way to go about offending someone and just up and choosing not to acknowledge how you offended someone because you just don't feel like it is also a pretty shitty thing to do. It was posted on a forum, and as such i will handle it on a forum in a public way and sure i can be called angry for pointing it out but idgaf because i just am not about to sit here and read something like " you disagree which makes you angry and I'm not about to listen so either you agree or you get ignored."
NOONE repeat no one was angry or attacking anyone (yes lotus's last post was angry but if you've had people preaching at you forever you too would be quick to have a fire lit under your ass) and claiming that anyone who comments against your beliefs is angry says a lot about you to be 100% honest.
Sent from my LG-M210 using MerNetwork mobile app (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=95032)Thank you for standing up for me. I'm sure you get that in my book, this is still not ok. But I am no longer participating in it, because there is no point, and I am better than that. I blocked almost everyone in this thread, because I choose not to associate with this kind of degradation and exclusivity, and will continue to find truly open, honest, and all-inclusive mers wherever I can. Again, thank you.

So I listened to Ocean by Hillsong and it was beautiful!
9 minutes long, though! I had no idea songs ever went past a 3 to 4 minute runtime! It was a relaxing 10 minutes to say the least !!!
Does anyone else have any Christian worship songs or more casual Christian songs about the ocean or the sea? I'd love to hear more like Ocean!
I tried searching for some, but it just shows thousands of videos of the same song, either with lyrics, remixed, or music videos. :P
They were great, don't get me wrong, but I'm looking for more than just one song. I don't want to burn myself out on one song by playing it on repeat when I want to hear something about the ocean and God!
Thanks in advance, guys!
You're all amazing

I agree. We need to all stop discussing this, it only drags out the argue both parties wish to stop.

I love them both, but I love to sing and Oceans is easier for me too sing, Drops in the Ocean literally hurts to sing sometimes, but it doesn't stop me from singing it.
So if I had to choose I would probably choose Oceans.

Oh! That makes more sense :P
I'm actually new to the whole Christian worship songs thing, as I was raised in a non-denominational home where we went strictly by the Bible. Such as, I've never worn pants, only dresses and skirts, I wasn't allowed to watch almost anything [no scooby-doo, spongebob, etc.], and it was made clear to me as a kid that I couldn't talk in the church.
The only "Christian" songs I knew of was the hymnbooks most churches had. If we went to a church that had a band or concert-like music worship service, I was taught that brought no glory to God and that the sermon should be more focused on teaching instead of hearing music. One church I went to even took it to the extreme and anything with a 3-beat tune was apparently of the Devil himself...
If you guys have any suggestions for some Christian music, I'd love to hear it! Expanding my music library is always a good thing ! :D
My current favorite artists of Christian music is Owl City and Capital Kings !

Okay, this may be throwing gas on the fire here...
My all-time Fave is Keith Green. VERY 70's, one of the most important voices in the Jesus Movement. Here are two of his, the second written by Randy Stonehill (whom I'm trying to get to come to my church for a concert).

I discovered him much later, but I've always been interested in Recent / Contemporary History. SOOO much of where the church is today (in a good way!) is from that era.

I would like to explore creating a mermaid version of the pearl of great price.
Here is a Sunday school lesson on it if you need a refresher or are having trouble following along.
http://www.sundayschoolsources.com/lessons/pearl.htm
I have heard a pearl diver version of this story before.
It is not to far of a stretch to include mermaids in it but I haven't gotten much past just deciding to do it.
Have any of you ever played the story game? One person starts the story and then another in the circle adds to it and it just gets passed along the circle or splits in multiple directions creating several versions. I thought it might be fun if we created a mernaid parable together.
Anyone that contributes can use their version or the version created here at gigs or wherever they want.

Hey! Have you guys seen the movie "I'm Not Ashamed"?
If not you guys HAVE to find it and watch it! It is such an inspirational story and it's so uplifting!
It's completely changed my outlook and helped me understand how to truly become the person who gives their whole life to God.
It was just what I needed to help me when I start back to school tomorrow.

I have not seen it, but I want to!
I remember reading a book about Cassie Bernall, another girl who tragically died at Columbine during the 1999 shooting, and it brought me to tears. It was about a girl who never really believed in God [she was even an atheist!] until a few days/weeks before the shooting, turning her life around for the good. The shooters apparently told her to renounce God as her Savior, and she didn't, so they killed her on the spot. But, it lead so many people to God because of her courage and bravery, standing up to two monsters and professing her faith confidently, even at gunpoint.
It really showed me the value of Christ, to be honest. So many people are willing to tear down and hurt and kill Christians all over the world. Some don't even have Bibles to read, and can't further their relationship with Christ!
I keep thinking me and my friends have it hard when someone online thinks they need to go out of their way to attack our Christian beliefs like rabid dogs, but, then, hearing and seeing stuff like that is just... humbling.
I am so thankful I have a Bible, and Christian friends and fellowship, and a country that lets me profess His name and read His Word whenever and wherever I want to! We have the power to spread the Word to every corner of our lands, which is such a gift. It makes some appreciate everyday life.
I've gotta see this movie now that I know it exists and it's a good one!
It's rated very well on Google!

Currently running AV at my districts Pastors Camp and heard a really nice tidbit. Focus for this session was Physical Health and the speaker said "activity promotes creativity" and went on to speak on how being active makes for better ministry and such. So true! This has just been discussed actually, I think it starts back around page 19 or further.
I think it is more about showing kindness and compassion to everyone. And when asked questions to not be afraid and hide your faith, but to let God's light shine through.

Hi all! I'm still really new but I'm finding more and more about what to love in the mer community every day. I'm so glad to see that there are people I can fellowship with here, too! I have to admit, I'm by no means a perfect Christian. I travel a lot so I don't really have a stable church, that in itself makes it hard to keep my faith strong sometimes. But! I do try to exhibit kindness and acceptance to everyone as much as I can, and keep myself on the right track. I can't wait to get to know you all better and build some lasting friendships <3

So I have missed this thread.
I thought I would share what has been on my heart lately.
Recently the holy spirit has been challenging me to to trust him and be led by him in every situation. I have been stressing a lot about my event from this Saturday with Atlanta Parent Magazine you can read about it in my other thread. I would greatly appreciate some tips. I did a ton of work and worrying and I was trying very hard to control the outcome of the event. I was honestly ready to cancel the whole thing. But in the midst of it all I heard him tell me not to worry. I think I may have been trying to ask God to come along side my plan. Instead of asking him what his plan was and following it. I can worry about everything that could go wrong and try to plan around it and still have stuff go wrong. And Honestly God doesn't call us to live that way. He calls us to put our trust in him, to have faith in him, and ask him what to do. And we don't like to follow that so we end up in difficult situations. It's like trying to swim against a current it is much easier to swim with the current. Have you ever been in a lazy river at a local pool? I have tried to swim against these and the little while pool at KSU and it is not easy or really as fun as I thought it would be. These are much more enjoyable when you swim with the current you speed up and zip through the water! Life is SO MUCH easier and enjoyable when you aline with God's plan instead of trying to get him to aline with yours.
I constantly find myself going back to this scripture.
Jeremiah 29:11 CSB — “For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the LORD’s declaration — “plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
12*“You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
13*“You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart."
God desires our whole heart not left overs! Share how you show God that he has your whole heart. Or how you have course corrected and started following his plan. Or if he leads you to share something else obviously share it! :) Let's get this thread busy again!

Can totally agree with Greg and Faith. Sometimes I think of the water as a conductor from God's mind to ours :) nothing esoteric there, just a sense of joy and peace below the surface that welcomes His presence.
By the way I just joined Mernetwork! I'm an Anglican myself, and though I'm going through a very rough patch financially, I realise it'd be very strange if faith didn't also give us the fortitude to handle it.
I've read all the stories of churches and church leaders not knowing what to do with mers in their midst. Guess it's our opportunity to show them... and grow a new generation that will understand the hobby for what it is.
God bless!

Meanwhile, if you or any fellow mers in Christ have faith, Christian history or theology questions, post or PM me and I'll do my best to help. God bless!

It’s really pretty in the fall where all the trees turn colors on the mountains. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a great place to see them.
Also Nashville is pretty cool. I’ve only been there for an overnight trip, but it was interesting trip.
Anyways I’ll let the thread get back to normal. Lol.

Anyone else? Would be great to think of how to use this thread for fellowship -- it'll have to be the kind that works well online and isn't something that can be done better in our churches or communities :)
Some ideas -
1 - Prayer requests for plans, future clarity (if mermaiding will be a big part of your future) and life events.
2 - Advice on mer- and faith-related questions, like how to honour God through the hobby, or Bible difficulties
3 - Social issues and debate (tho it needs to be kept respectful)
4 - Encouragement and mutual prayer support during difficult times
5 - Arranging meetups and faith-based gatherings when us mers are in the same place -- such as at an event
Anything else comes to mind? Let us know :)

Absolutely! And it is a great way to learn more about people while supporting and encouraging them. Like Holly :)
If you look at older pages that is basically what has been going on. The thread is just not very active lately.
I miss my mers from this thread!!!! particularly MerGreg, Izzy and Rebela, but like me they are probably caught up in life right now.
I actually have a post that does a lot of those things you mentioned based on an experience I have at an entertainment event I had this week end, I started writing last night. It is about Living in the Christian Bubble. But I haven't got the chance to finish it yet and I really I want it to be solid. School is crazy lately so I need to stop and focus on that.
Will post soon but I would love to hear from you guys and be able to encourage, fellowship, and discuss stuff with you.

I am doing pretty well I am almost ready to make that post.
I was taking about I am just looking it over to try and make sure I am not repeating anything and that it is clear.
It is kind of hard I realised that we have a really wide age range of people on the board and I am trying to include all ages and levels of understanding.
I am also a little apprehensive about posting because I have offended some non-christians before when I did not intend to and this post may offend certain denominations.
So... I am trying to be careful and leave out certain details while still making sense.
I just want people to think critically about their beliefs.
I am still praying for your Job. I know God has a perfect plan for you. :)

I just read Guy Haley's new Warhammer 40,000 novel, "The Devastation of Baal." While definitely not a Christian book, one character serves up a great reminder to people of faith -- that we need to love others and help them as a church to achieve better lives, whether or not they share our beliefs.
"Raise up the population of Baal Secundus. Teach them what we are fighting for. A line must be drawn between what is good and what is evil, for if the Great Enemy comes with offers of power to a wretch, what reason does he have to refuse hell if he dwells in it already?"

This isn't a Christian book, but I'd like to recommend Cal Newport's "So Good They Can't Ignore You" and "Deep Work" if you're starting a career, to help you avoid the mistakes I made. Heroic as solving problems is, preventing them is better [emoji14]

Hi everymer! How're you doing these days?
Unfortunately the job I interviewed for went to someone else, and I'm trying to get more interviews and leads right now. I do have a freelance client on retainer, which helps with immediate expenses -- though I'll need a little more to rebuild.
There's much less need for my caregiving nowadays, thank God. I'm trying to get my habits and discipline back in shape, and that includes rising early, exercising and writing. Once that's done and we're healthier financially, I aim to return to freedive training.
I'm about to start on an online project to help believers build character, resilience and trust in God, particularly younger ones who already know some of the Bible but struggle to apply it to their lives and use it to grow in holiness. What's your impression of the Bible nowadays, and what form would you say your walk with God is taking nowadays?
A blessed Advent and Christmas to one and all. Take care, and God bless!

Thanks Holly! It's a values-centred study that uses the Scriptures to teach core values and physical and mental strength.
Basically, I want to set courage, honour independence and strength in their biblical contexts and help Christians achieve those things.
Too often we prize gentleness and meekness, but it comes at the cost of a righteous determination to solve social problems, grow ourselves to help others and become stronger, more resilient people in general. That's the kind of mindset I want to help change -- so ordinary believers become stronger people who are more useful to God and His church in the world.
There's also a lot of misunderstanding about money, standing up to evil and doing God's will that I want to address.
Hope this helps! Can you share more about your dry patch, and what it feels like?

I thought I'd create a Christian corner for any Christian mers who would like to share testimonies, prayer requests, favorite songs and verses, questions, prophesies you've enjoyed, etc.
This way we can read each other's posts and post on the thread any time, any day- like weekly meetups only they're 24/7 internet "meetups"! And afterall, strength is in numbers (Or in a school of fish)...(mermaid pun...heh heh...um).
Today I learned that God's full salvation isn't once and for all, that there are stages- the spirit, the soul, and the body. Although God comes into our spirit through the initial stage, our soul is still full of Satan's nature. Like today I was enjoying in the Lord through reading the Bible and singing, but I will admit I threatened to kick a guy in the shin if he filmed me on his phone, so...I guess I'm not exactly to the second stage yet. But I know that doesn't happen overnight. It takes a whole lifetime. I am still trying to understand what the meaning of the 3rd stage is though. Our group leader said it's the "completing stage," so maybe the 3rd stage is death? I'm still confused and trying to figure the last one out myself.Hiii the Mermaid Carly... I've never cursed on MN before, but I just realised something is very, very ****-ing wrong in my relationship. There are ramifications for my family and friends, and here is the one place I can ask for prayer right now.
Please help me ask the Lord that no weapon formed against me prospers, and that He provides wise counsel and His protection in this difficult time.
No MN details, but this will mean a lot to me. Thanks!

Dear Lord I just ask that you will comfort Ransom in this moment with the reminder that you are always there. In the highest hights and the deepest depths of the ocean you are there with him. Lord we know that relationships can be difficult. I pray that you give Ransom wisdom to deal with the problem in a way that honors you. Also that you give him clear instruction and faith filled people to support him. No matter what the situation nothing is to big or to small for you Lord. We thank you Lord that you work all things together for the good of those who love you.
Amen

All right, high-level crisis averted; returning to low-level crisis mode. Thanks for your prayers, though it will take a LOT more doing to get out of the longer-term rut I'm in. Let's pray the Lord uses this year to bring the opportunity we'll need to do so :)
I’m not going to sugar coat this, I’ve been awake since 130pm yesterday. My grandmother is 82 and got a fever. She at the hospital with my my mother and we all are unsure how this is going to turn out. I’m doing okay right now however I’m aware my wall is weaker today. I’m not one to outright ask for help but here I am posting in this thread.

I pray that God is giving each of us strength and wisdom to navigate our situations and for healing through Faith. Lot's of love to everyone struggling right now. Remember that he makes all things work together for the good of those who love him. Open your heart to hear wisdom, directions, and correction because you know that he has a plan for your life and that is to prosper you not to harm you.

I pray she's in Christ so that no matter how much time there is left, you all face it in God's peace and provision. He promises that He is the resurrection and the life, and where He dwells, there we may be also.
Whatever happens, go in His comfort and ask for His strength every day of this trial.

I'm generally very uncomfortable fellowshipping with other Christians and usually prefer to keep my faith and spirituality to myself. That being said, I do ask for prayers in situations where there is literally nothing else I can do to help.
There's a nameless, faceless young soldier. I don't know anything about him other than the fact that he's on the verge of death, and that the military is flying his wife out to see him. He is a green beret, the junior partner of my coworker's son. ISIS blew up a building that the two of them were in, colapsing it on them. Coworker's son is stable and doing good for a guy with a broken back, but the doctors don't have much hope for the junior partner.
I don't know this guy. Never met him, never heard of him until today. I can't stop crying for him though. I really want him to pull through. But there's literally nothing I can do to help. Not even monetary donations will help him, the military is already paying the medical bills. I figured it fitting I ask strangers to help me pray for a stranger.

PRAISE! I just want to share how amazing it has been to be able to work on my business and raise my child at home. I have an offer from a professional photographer to discuss a photoshoot, I'm working on my business foundation, I have more eyes on my social media than ever. I have a party lined up soon. My baby is happy and healthy and is ahead of her development. I had an opportunity to meet mermaids in my area and make friends. I have a roof over my head, food in the cupboards, and access to clean water. I am truly blessed and none of it would be possible without God.

In addition, my brother went to the doctor and tested negative for the flu (happening quite often for flu patients); however he is now running a high fever. My dad is a paramedic and tried all he knows to do except taking him to the ER. They are headed there now. My brother is terrified of needles and my dad said they are probably going to stick him. I know the Lord can heal him before they even get there, so you all could keep him in your prayers too I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not in any church at the moment, since my last one told me that it's my fault my mother has a mental illness and that I deserved to be abandoned like I was by her. :P
But, I have found that reading the Bible more often for the answers I need and more constant prayer has been extremely helpful! I've found answers to every question and conviction I've had these past few months. Seems like everything is falling into place for me, Lord-willing!
I still have very few to consult for opinions or anything regarding experiences with spiritual matters, but that's okay! God will provide me someone if it is His will, and only when it's His timing and not mine.
:)

That wouldn't fly at my church. Was it a leader or a member? I would confront them about it. If it is 1 member they may not be a regular attendee or something if not, yeah you need a new church, that is not representing Christ. Church is a great tool but it is not a substitute for a personal relationship with Christ so you sound like you are on the right track.
Let me make this clear another person's behavior is not your fault. (Unless your a parent of a small child. Then it's your responsibility to train them.)
Rebela I would love to talk with you and encourage you about this over private messenger as I share a very similar situation with my mother though I have not been abandoned. Over the past 6 years have learned how to deal with the mental illness in a healthy way. Through prayer with my dad we have found answers in the bible and through the help of councillor I have been able to put my self esteem back together.

Fully agreed, Joie. Unfortunately, all it takes is one clown to ruin things. I'm glad if you're reading this, chances are your faith is in God, not in other people.
'Pinion, church leaders are generally horrible at helping parishioners with mental illness. Self-esteem is an important part of mental well-being, and too often well-meaning pastors write articles that go, "HRRR DRRR DRRR SELF-ESTEEM BAD! MORE OF HIM, LESS OF US! DON'T GET PUFFED UP!"
Sometimes they're too heavenly-minded (in the wrong way) to be of any earthly good.
That said, Rebela -- I'm glad your faith stayed intact. The best argument for the beauty of Christ is our own behaviour, and sadly too few people who call themselves Christians see that. If you like, can you share how did going back to Scripture helped you out? (Here or by PM is fine.)

To answer all of you, yes, an elder woman and a pastor both told me, my Dad, and my brother those exact words. Things like "No wonder she left you all - you're of the devil!" and things of that sort. Even went so far to attack our friends in the church, telling a mother of 11 kids that, since she's a remarried widow, she's an adulterer, which of course isn't true at all.
Thankfully, I've always had deep faith in the Lord and a God-fearing single Dad to guide me, so he was sure to let me know that a pastor should never say anything like that to anyone, especially young children trying to find God!
Since that horrible experience with that Berean church, I've had a bit of trouble trusting any church again until I can truly get steady in my footing with God. I want to make sure that I am prepared before attempting to find another church.
I'll definitely PM you, Joie! I'd love to hear about your situation, if you're willing to share! <3
@Ransom - Well, I was having a bit of trouble recently with a few things, such as how I treated others, how I tried to share the Word of God [which I was a bit aggressive about before], and I wanted to find a true, justifiable, Bible-backed answer to mermaiding for God and how it doesn't need to represent the evil connotations of the mythological "mermaids" and can be used to glorify or respect the Lord. I've spent the past 4 to 6 months researching in the Bible, praying, and asking for opinions from both Christians and Non-Christians about all of those things and have finally found peace with it. :)
(Though, last time we had a discussion about mermaiding as a christian, it caused a lot of drama, so if anyone wants my reasoning on that they can definitely PM me and I'll gladly share what I've found!)

I have a new update on the Junior Green Beret; there was a either a mix up at the hospital, or my coworker looked up information on the wrong guy. (This sounds crazy as I type this, I know.) Unfortunately there is still a soldier that was killed in action, but it wasn't the kid I was praying for. My coworker's son recently posted a selfie of himself and his Junior on facebook, and they're both back in the U.S. and recovering.

I really wish I had something heroic to say about honour and gratitude and endurance, but right now I'm nearing the end of my rope. I went for a job interview with a welfare service centre... and the conversation turned to my caregiving duties for my epileptic wife. Long story short, they realised I was far more suitable to be their client than their employee :(
I can't help but think that God is closing all these doors and making me rely on the kindness of family (even that has a limit) and my survival-level retainer pay. Himself, it goes without saying, but I'd really prefer to not have her to keep worrying about. Ironically, I'd be quite a successful freelancer had I remained single :(
There simply isn't enough time and money to build our household, and with my wife confined to her room and so frequently injured there's just so f***ing much on my shoulders. I'm starting to wonder why I even get out of bed any more.
On tough days (like this week) my mind flees to tails and painting miniatures, and I recognise those things now for the escapism they are. That's a symptom of tiredness and burnout. I'm also angry and bored in church, which can't be a good thing either.
Thanks for hearing me out, and your help and prayers. I don't know if she'll get her mobility and seizure freedom back, but I'm really losing hope after five years of this.

How do Christians cope with this? Do you feel like God is forsaking you? I'm really sorry this is happening. I hope the dots can connect.

How do Christians cope with this? Do you feel like God is forsaking you? I'm really sorry this is happening. I hope the dots can connect.Read the Psalms, many of them come from the pit of despair and address exactly that issue.
In effect, we cope the same way we have for thousands of years -- a conviction that God is there through it all, and will bring meaning and dignity to life even when we can't humanly see it. Jesus Himself suffered terribly, and lives as a reminder that God doesn't call us to do anything He won't do Himself.
He also works through His church to bring relief, and heals spiritually and later physically should He so choose.
None of that changes because I'm in a tough spot, after all the Bible and church history are full of people who endured far worse. They knew their reward was worth more than any affliction they could suffer down here.
Hope that helps, Kane! Thanks for the good wishes.

That sounds awful. I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been going through. I wish there was some kind of advice I could give, but I don’t know how I can help. I will definitely keep you in my prayers, and please, don’t lose hope. I know you can get through this—if not through your own strength, then through God’s.

Does it help when your feeling angry and bored towards the church? I can't imagine it's fun. :cThis technically makes us a stronger person, say if I pray for something and it seams like I don't see god himself help. He normally sends someone by chance who had, that " feeling" that we need help but sometime it takes a while and it is tough Not to feel angry.

That said, church is part of my life and a vital connection with others, and provides a valuable sense of community. There've been loads of kind and encouraging people there, and I'm thankful for their help :)

Gram is home and fine. Thank you for the help everyone :)
Was in discord chat, chatted with Slim. I copy message Slim said since grandmother spoken here. "This is Slim. I'm expecting Mermaid Yuki to copy this from the discord chat for me as I posted in this thread asking for prayers. Gram did end up getting pneumonia again was back in the hospital until March 1st. I appreciated the support provided in this thread which is why I'm hoping this message gets posted as I do want to thank you. I'll make my return to Mernetwork in 2019 is the goal. At the moment though, I am in a moment of mourning. Even though my gram came home on the 1st, the lord accepted her (without suffering) earlier this afternoon. She was at the hosiptial because of shortness of breath when she had a heart attack. The hospital already had her sedated trying to bring her oxygen up when the heart attack accorded. Because of the sedation, she was never aware of the heart attack and therefore never suffered. I really do thank everyone for your support. I'm happy to talk to anyone of you if any of you come onto the discord chat. Until then. Thank you.
PS.
Thank you Mermaid Yuki for posting this for me."

Blessed Palm Sunday to all! Just wanted to share this encouraging note with this thread.
Remember that He who made the universe and owns the earth, the sea and all its riches chose to come to us in meekness and humility -- even in declaring Himself King and Lord, He did so on a humble donkey, exactly as the prophet Zechariah said He would.
A Being greater and more incomprehensible than the abyssal depths comes to us in a way that lets us freely approach Him as we choose. Whatever barrier that kept us from the Divine -- human and spiritual -- is torn down in Jesus, and His choice of a donkey instead of a flashy warhorse was His way of showing it.
In His first coming He asked that we follow Him -- and opened the way to do so through His suffering and death. In meeting Him as Saviour and Friend, we need not fear when He comes as our Judge.
May Holy Week serve to call us to deeper service, repentance and love for others -- that through His Spirit He makes us more and more like Himself. That is the result of our trials, and the reason we can freely call "Hosanna!" ("Deliver us!") to Him as the crowds did.
Thanks for reading, everymer. God bless us all.

Of course.
I have misaligned jaws which causes issues with eating and neck strain. I've worked for two years to get my teeth aligned and now that they are, I can get the surgery. I will be getting jaw surgery. I don't know when, but I do know that I will have to be under care for a week. Then the healing process takes up to two months. During this time I will be on a liquid diet.
Now here is the scary part. Jaw surgery can cause permanent nerve damage. The nerves get all messed up and the patient ends up with a constant and intense pain in there face. Scary.

My jaw surgery will be happening anywhere between 2 weeks to 2 months. It will be a major surgery. I will have to stay in the hospital after for up to a week. The next week I will be bedridden. The next 4 weeks I will be up and moving. During this whole time I will have to wear a brace and I can't eat food. I can only drink liquids. The whole healing process should be up to 2 months after surgery.
I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous. I am praying it goes well and I have no complications after.

Take heart, for no matter what happens -- on this blessed day the tomb was empty, the graveclothes folded and Christ powerfully risen, never to die again. He who conquered death promises that it will never again have the last word, and will one day be ended forever... along with all suffering, crying and pain. That is the source of a faith that endures, hopes and loves through anything life can throw at us.
Blessed Eastertide to everyone!

Hey guys can I get some prayer? My health is not great right now and I don't know what is wrong but I am constantly tired even after a full nights sleep and there are a bunch of other things that make me feel lousy. This has effected my grades at school and I find that I am more spacey and distracted. I went to the doctor today for a blood test and to get retested to see if I have completely kicked mono (I got that last spring.) The doctor suspected several different things and I should have something more conclusive by the weekend.
On the bright side afterwards I went to mickeals and found someone (I'll call her a master crafter) who instructed me on how to repair my tail. So I will use some of my down time from school to paint and repair it for summer gigs. I plan on making a few surprise appearances at the lake.

Other merfriends, I ask that you pray for my grandpa. He has been in the hospital for over a month and my family is gathering at the hospital now to “make some tough decisions”. The guilt is already setting in. Why didn’t I spend more time with him? Why didn’t I ask more about his life?
I appreciate your your prayers and know that if my grandpa goes home he will be in the presence of God and with my two cousins who have already left us, but it will still a large void in my heart and in my family.
Thank you merfriends.

Sorry, thought it best to split into 2 posts. My wife is unfortunately now bed-bound, and she's suffering not only from her illness but cerebellar degeneration. She can no longer walk unaided and it's a terrible struggle getting her to the hospital for appointments. We're uncertain about long term prospects, but we have to plan assuming she won't get better.
Hopefully there'll be enough to place her in a home where she'll get the specialised care she needs, and I'm able to earn enough to afford it. Right now I'm struggling under the load and added responsibility, and I fear I'll crack or spend so much time running errands I fall behind on my work. It's all the responsibility and none of the help :(

Her doctors are silent on her condition and aren't optimistic about her recovery. We'll have to face the reality that she may be like this (or worse) for the rest of her life.
If God doesn't want to heal her, at least let her be taken home early so she doesn't have to suffer so long.
Please keep our future in prayer, and that He reveals some direction soon. I've no idea what to do or try for any longer.

I’m so sorry, Ransom. I can’t imagine what you’re going through, and I wish I could help.
I pray that, whatever happens, you and your wife will find happiness. I know that you can be together in God’s kingdom someday, and you will be able to stay with each other for all eternity.
It will be okay. Maybe not today, maybe not even in this lifetime. But someday, it will all be okay.

That is really nice MerGreg!
I mostly just wanted to see if anyone on thread was still alive. :*)
My good news is I am graduating and my research professor who is also a Christian offered me a full time job for spring as a lab tech doing experiments and mentoring students. Praise God! It is not offical yet I don't graduate until Dec 12th after this weeks exams. But I am SUPER EXCITED to be done! I maybe able to move out of my parents house (which is not a good situation as it is) but God is making a way out.
Yay! You get a job! I get a job! Everyone can have a job!

Thanks!
I just wanted you guys to know that I'm doing good now. I know a lot of you have been on here praying for me and there have been times when I've been the sad depressed person that's going through some crap and needs a little extra love.
I wanted to share to encourage you wherever you're at right now that God does help you get through it. It may not be in the way you think it will be, it may not be on the timeline you would preffer but he always answers. Trust him ask him for wisedom about what to do.
James 1:5 (NLT) If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Or (HCB)
Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God — who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly — and it will be given to him.

Hey, Joie! I didn't get notified of your post, and just saw it. Glad you're doing better.
I just want you to know - I think you, Consistently, have a TERRIFIC attitude. Be richly blessed, dear heart.

And I GOT THE JOB!!!!
Bad news: It doesn't start for at least six months to a year. I have to have a FULL background check (including a polygraph session, maybe more than one) but when that goes through, my entire life will be different.
Maybe I'll be getting a Tail in a year or so!:lol::lol:

I am in a similar boat. Looking for a new tail or to make a new one. sadly mine is not holding up to multiple gigs and my attempts to repair my tail failed and actually made it worse. I am looking at sequin tails now does anyone own one?
