[Mermaid Cherish]

What is the number one piece of mer-jewelry you can not go without, with or without your tail?

I don't have anything yet; I'm considering getting mine soon (as soon as I can get the money together), but I'm not sure what I want it to be. I'm thinking I want it to have something to do with my birthstone (aquamarine) and my birth sign (Pisces). I'd love it to have a mermaid, a dolphin or both. Not sure how much 1 piece of jewelry can hold, but my ideas are fairly loose anyway. I'm still considering and looking at what's available. It will represent the rocky path to my tail, that I may never go back. I hope to use it in persona someday, but also in day to day life.

So I was wondering, what piece or two of mermaiding jewelry can't you do without, regardless what's going on? Pictures encouraged!

I have all kinds of fishy earrings that I wear daily, but my favorite is this mother of pearl dolphin bracelet. I bought a few of them at a small aquarium when I was little, but they can also be found on ebay. (:

I have lots of accessories, but my favorite for mermaid stuff is a plain ole shell necklace. you know the cheap kind that are all tiny shells that they sell in gift shops. i use it as a necklace and a bracelet. its cheap so i dont have to worry about losing it, and its cute :) Day to day, i loooove the barnacle earrings i got from ionas etsy.

On land, sometimes I wear my Seafoam Bracelet which I made, in a Spiral Stitch.

I got it from Morticia when I ordered my tail, she happened to be selling it around the same time I'd put my order in. It perfectly matches my tail's colors and the starry pendant is perfect with my mer-name (Starfrit) and I HAD to have it! <3 I wear it everywhere except to work!

I have many Mermaid pieces. But when I am in my mersona I don't like to wear jewelry that depicts mermaids, so I wear jewelry that depicts things that a mermaid would like...seahorses, starfish, shells, coral, octopi. I am working on making a signature piece. I will post a picture when I finish it.

I sadly do not own this spectacular piece, I just thought it sounded like what you were describing, i.e. an aquamarine mermaid piece of jewelry. ;D

This is a large black opal that my Dad had given to my Mom on a treasured trip to Australia years ago. I changed out the delicate gold chain it was on for a leather cord. It's one of the only 3 things I have left of theirs when they passed away. I wear it frequently on land and always while in my tail as it looks like the depths of the sea are trapped within it. Somehow it reminds me of their presence and I feel safer when I swim in it.

What a wonderful keepsake to have. I am glad it makes you feel closer to them when you wear it. I have my mothers wedding ring, which makes me feel closer to my parents.

Mine is my tail charm. It's a replica of my silicone tail. I wear it when I'm not yet in tail and as soon as I take off the tail, in case I get caught by kids. I say that it is my actual tail and it's magical so I can carry it around with me and transform when I need to. I never wear it at the same time as my tail. :-)

Thank you! I know other mers have used the "tail charm" story, and that's where I got the idea to adapt it to the one I tell. A shell, stone, or any other jewelry works just fine. I think some scales would be awesome too... like the scale heart that comes with a Merbella tail!

The silver one has a comb and loops for attaching bobby pins. It also holds my hair out of my face The gold one likes to eat my hair if I go underwater with it

My signature piece is a sterling silver ring of two dolphins playing together. Dolphins are my favorite animals, and I have always dreamed of someday getting to swim with them while in tail! I also have a couple beautiful rings from Sheppard Hill Creations on Etsy- one of two mermaids holding my
birthstone, and one of a mermaid and a conch shell.

Thanks for sharing every one. And sorry I haven't checked in recently. I've been keeping really active, trying to whip my own "tail" into shape. (Pun not intended, but recognized.) I did finally get my first piece of (ground only) mer jewelry. I can't imagine how, but one of the pieces went missing the very night I got my necklace. A very small mermaid charm. I love dolphins too, Olivia. As far as swimming with them, that's a big dream for a Michigan mermaid! It'd be nice to see them someday though.
