Is anyone else going to Dragoncon on Labor Day weekend? If so I heard there's a mermaid meetup already on their program, I think it's on Friday at the Sheraton pool.

Pinups by the Pool Party
Talloolah Love and her bevy of bathing beauties bring to you a poolside treat! Music, gorgeous ladies, and fun is what’s to be had at the poolside party at the fabulous Sheraton Hotel. Be sure to don your best poolside pinup attire for the shimmy contest, and for all of you more aquatically minded lovelies, we will be holding a mermaid competition. Points will be awarded for style, speed, and grace! Lovely prizes will be awarded and more at this sumptuous swimmer’s paradise. Cabana boys and equally tasty master of ceremonies, New Orleans John, will move the party along as Talloolah Love and her Burlesque Bombshells from Saturday night’s Glamour Geek Revue will party the night away in all of it’s enchanting glory! Fri 8:30PM, Sheraton pool.

Oh yes the pinups by the pool party is what I saw in the booklet for Dragoncon! I'm just going to meetup with other mers and have fun, don't really care about the contest.

I was a little disappointed by the pin ups at the pool party. Mostly because I thought they'd have it closed off for us to swim and do the pinups thing. Instead we got overrun by a bunch of frat boys hitting people with a volleyball and one lady got kicked in the head. Of course by the time all of us got out they left.

Yeah, apparently from my friends that went there was an abnormally large number of dudebros and rude con-goers this year.

There really was, it was pretty awful. I felt really sorry for the kids that just wanted to talk to mermaids. I was so afraid they were going to get hurt by the dudebros.
