Hey merfolk everywhere,

As some of you may know I'm working on a tail project; and for just that I made a first custom fin blade for my fluke. However, I've changed my mind about the shape I want it to be and also about the hardness.

This is a very flow fluke, good for beginners, consisting of one sheet in the middle and two on the outside that serve as a reinforcing 'skeleton'. The material is a type of hardened rubber so it does not rip (trust me I tried). However if you fold it forcefully (for example, step on it when it's folded) it will stay creased, so some care is called for!

I don't want anything for it except a few words on how it feels in the water :) I thought, before throwing it away I'd see if anyone would like to give it a go. Foot pockets can be provided, but they're rather expensive to get from here (Switzerland - so I'd not recommend getting them from me.

Let me know if you're interested!

Oh man, I'd be interested but I know shipping would be difficult. It's such a unique design, it would be interesting to see how it swims.

Thank you for your interest Illyn!

Since it's very light, international shipping would mount to about 20 bucks. This one is going to a lovely Belgian Mermaid, and I'm sure she'll let us know :)

I hope she does let us know :)

I just heard it's going to be used for a non-swimmable silicone tail. But I can post my own experiences with my self-made fluke if you guys are interested. It'll be all up over here; http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?11528-Nim-s-Tailmaking-Disaster-Diary&p=209659#post209659 once it's ready.

the shape is gorgeous! too bad it's gone, but could you tell me the name of the rubber you used? it's really nice to have a V shaped cut and if I tried that on polycarbonate or lexan It would brake :(

I'll see if I can get you the official name Isabel! I actually got it from a local printer, it's commonly used to print large billbords on - I've been told :)

Always interested in seeing how people make their tails and flukes.
