I've just started it, but I absolutely love it! It's a very old film, and you can watch it for free on YouTube with ads. :)

I hope you all like it!

Ooh, looks like something I could watch with my dad, especially if it has any big stars in it. He loves old movies and is always trying to find times to watch them with me.

I don't know if y'all caught it, but the opening credits said that the underwater scenes were filmed at Weeki Wachee!

This movie is so charming! I have always loved it. If You like this, you will enjoy another old Mermaid classic, "Miranda." An absolutely adorable classic as well as it's sequel, "Mad About Men." ( If you look closely, you may recognize a few faces from "Mary Poppins.") :)

Thanks for posting.
I've seen them both, but they were taken down for a while and now I can re-watch them.

For fans of the Miranda movies, her is Glynnis Johns talking about her tail (made from rubber by Dunlop) and other interesting background stories.

I love her underwater home! And the little hidey places! In Mr Peabody, that is.

Those movies are so charming, I doubt they could ever remake them that nice.
The tail, when swimming, looks fantastic too and very realistic.

My only regrets are that it's not in colour (the tail is soo beautiful and Glynis is so pretty, it's a real waste), and that the actors are smoking all over the place.
Brrrrr!

Echidna, you're in luck! The sequel to Miranda, called Mad About Men, also starring Glynis, IS in glorious vivid Technicolor and out on DVD! I own it and it's just as amusing as the first cause she also has a friend! ;) You're right, The tails are amazing and also slightly extended if you look closely. I think you'll appreciate there's less smoking in this one. lol

Hehe ;)
I know.
I loved the tail, it's gorgeous in colour.

Maybe I can find it on youtube again.

If anyone finds that sequel movie, could they please post the video for it here as well? It's so handy having them all in this thread!

For people who would like to watch the Miranda movies on their TV, they are available as a double DVD set at a pretty good price from Amazon ($15)

And Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid has been released in high definition on Blu-Ray, in it's original 1.37:1 aspect ratio (they didn't chop off the top & bottom of the movie to make it fill a widescreen TV).

Planning on buying this one. I love seeing the old movies in hi-def.

Also, for those know how to use BitTorrrent, if you go to kat.cr and type Mad About Men into the search box, you'll find there's an excellent torrent out there.
