I am doing a orange scale, black scroll work top next. Which would go along with your wings amazingly [your scale color could be blue to match your colors]. Blue and black could look really cool!

The cheap best way I've found to photograph is a white bed sheet in a corner to smooth out the backdrop. You can diffuse the light with another white sheet. Easy enough.

Sometime the easiest way to fix that problem is to delete and reinstall the app. Sadly you would have to go through giving permission for everything again.
