working with a foil and have come to a crossroad

Ok so im making my third silicone tail now and i decided on the finis foil. Ive got the sucker wrapped up in saran wrap and the tail is assembled. I want to try on the tail but to do so i would need to cut the saran wrap and expose the opening of the footpocket. Its a seamless design so just altering the fit is a huge ordeal and i didnt wanna have to ruin the paint job to do it.

I havent had any cure issues with the pins poking through and touching the foil directly but i dont know if opening the footpockets would yeild the same result or if ill destroy the chance at a perfect paint job. Im thinking i should leave it alone but its nice to get some more experienced opinions!
