Just felt like starting a thread for people to post mermaid/merfolk art they've done and felt like sharing. Could be fan-art or other hand-made art (not photos or modeling).

That's a beautiful painting! I'm so terrible with watercolours, I'm astounded. The scales look amazing!

Ah was just looking for a thread like this :)

I have a personal style I call "line art" or just "my style" haha that I developed. I mean, it's probably not completely unique but I'm proud because I created it myself rather than seeing it. It originally was only for ballerinas but I decided to expand it and try other things. And what do I do? A mermaid of course!

ive been doodling a bunch of mermaids lately, too. i wrote down a few random but cool "subspecies" from http://mermaid.namegeneratorfun.com/ , which is fun to type random stuff and get different species. but anyways, i wrote down a few i thought were especially cool, (if you type in "xa" in the first box, and "b" in the other, i think its the "unda naufragus", which is my favorite), but ive been drawing them. so ill work on coloring them once im done and ill put them up :D im really proud of my first one. haha.

all the art on here is great :D i always love seeing mer-art, lol.
that painting of raven is incredible. i thought it was a picture at first. seriously, its beautiful.

I made this using Poser and Bryce, to depict one of the mermaid witches that dwells beneath the Sinking Isle. Each was a mermaid whose tail was replaced by the tentacle of a kraken by the fleshwarper sea hag known as Purl. Together, the enclave of witches share the kraken's powers and memories.

That's cool! Although I think you mean 'conclave', as in a group of people. An enclave is a smaller region inside a larger area.

Ahh. I wish I learned to use Poser. I had a copy of it, a few years back. And then I taught myself how to use Maya in 2009 before they were acquired by Autodesk. Haven't really touched any 3D program since, except for a little of Autodesk Inventor, but I didn't really get the hang of it.
