Merdivas Studios- has anyone seen this?

Merdivas Studios tailmaker. I was fairly impressed, despite the similarity to Merbella Studios in name, it seems really original, decent quality, and nice. They say they do charity work and dont seem scammy to me (like most out of the blue tailmakers do). what do you guys think?

Merdivas is owned by Mermaid Oshun, she's a member here but hasn't posted anything in like a year, so it's probably safe to say that Merdivas isn't currently operational.

That was Golden Pearl. She changed her name to Mermaid Oshun. She crashed and burned and announced she would no longer be making tails for sale and disappeared. I had a fairly serious run in with her, and she seriously burned Yulia.

I used to see her lurking once in a while, but she never posts.

Yeah, I don't remember exact details. Check the drama threads if you're interested but I know there were some issues that arose around MerFest 2014.

Yeah, I remember that that tail that the tail that Christomer got apparently fell apart on the first swim and there were tons of pins still in it that cut someone (I think it was Hyli's husband cause Christomer let him swim in it? I think I'm remembering that right.) There was some other drama I think but I can't recall. But yeah, crash and burn.

Nope. Not at all. She was... something to remember. That is pretty much an understatement lol

I also remember well what she did to Yulia too!
There was also quite a mess for what happened at the Merfest and I remember lots of angry people for what she did!



It's strange that people don't remember and that she didn't quit also the Facebook page!

I remember all too well because I nearly got kicked off the site for handing her her ass in public. I'm not proud of what I did, but it HAD to be done.

I suppose I owe her a debt of thanks...it's because if that blow up that I refuse to be a loser of a tailmaker.

Then things quickly went downhill drama-wise.

I hope this thread doesn't devolve into a bash-and-gloat.

No matter whether one thinks the things that went on in the drama thread were justified or not, everything could have turned out differently with, let's say, more finesse.

The stuff GP made was really beautiful, it's sad the didn't pull through becoming a real tailmaker.

I guess it could be called one of the biggest drama of 2013-2014. Her page being abandoned means pretty much that she moved on. And we all did the same.

Yeah, she had a competition for a silicone tail (which I won)
After like a year and 60$ from my side I still didn't get anything.

Got a pm from her here on Mernetwork a month ago though.

No it was for a lexan sheet and two zoomers (footpockets) otherwise there wouldn't have been a monofin inside.

I remember it well too, I sorta wonder what she's up to now, is she making tails for herself? or has she just completely given up? I do think that if she took the crit a lot better rather than thinking everyone was attacking her, that she could've grown into a good tailmaker.

Yes it was my husband that was pierced by the needles left in the tail, not once but about three times until we found the embedded needles. We bought the tail from Christomer to see if we could save it for my husband but it was un-saveable. A lot of uncured silicone and the glitter was intense. I do believe the hotel from merfest had to shut down the hotel pool because of the amount of glitter that came off that tail. We dissected the tail to see if we could save the monofin but even that was in terrible condition. Sadly it was money wasted.
