First swim with tail in the ocean

Yay! I swam for the first time with my merman tail in the ocean! North sea, northern Denmark, water temperatures between 15°C (brrrr!) and 18°C (message to all cold-water mers: Respect! Especially when doing shoots on ice slabs, barely thawed rivers and such like :jawdrop:). It was strange at first, being afraid of making a fool out of myself, but in the end it was a lot of fun. Had two fins with me, my Finis Competitor and my Mat-Mas Mascotte, which has a polypropylene blade and is way softer than the fiberglass Finis, but fits inside my tailskin (which the Competitor does not). In a pool I prefer the softer fin, but in the ocean, I'd definitely go for the stiffer Competitor, so most of the swims in the two weeks of my vacation were monofin-only.

It wasn't exactly a photoshoot, more a roll-camera-and-see-what-happens-style thing, that's why I didn't post in the "I just had a photoshoot" thread, but nevertheless, here are the results:

Looks like a good time! :D First time I went ocean swimming in my tail, I swam right into a school of jelly fish and just about had my scales stung off. I'm definitely a fresh water mer.

Yup, had a really good time there :). Jaffa, I timed the swimming with the waves to ease my way towards land, don't know if that already counts as bodysurfing. Thinking of it, that sounds like fun. ;)
