First of all, to the mercommunity who is sick of drama, I sincerely apologize. Feel free to ignore my post. But since you know, this woman is trying to pin some crap on my publicly, I need to speak up about myself.

Eden, I don't know where you get off. There was no drama until you and christomer created it, and I have no problem saying so, and neither does anyone else. How about the hate texts being sent from your IP address to people involved with mermania? How about all those screenshots I have of you and chris dissing everyone? There was no drama, until christomer felt threatened about merfest. And it was deplorable that he went and got Caroline (whose mother just died suddenly) and luma (whose close friend also just died suddenly) involved. How is that NOT you guys starting drama??? Time and Time again, christomer pisses off people in the community, and then has the audacity to make some big "everyone love each other" post like he's not the one poking it. You guys keep doing your nasty PM thing, your passive aggressive thing, sending messages that read as threats, THE SHIT YOU HAVE SAID TO PEOPLE I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER SAY TO ANOTHER MERMAID EVEN IF I HATE THEM. There was no drama, none at all, until you guys decided to start it. Don't pull the blame raina bingo card because you opened your mouth and said something horrible and people called you on it.

While we're at it, I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. I have you blocked for a reason! You have me blocked for a reason. I thought you were a sincere kind person and all these screen shots of the horrible things you've lied about and said about me and my friends? After all the unpaid free work Sean and I have done for both merfests, and Sean for christomer working remotely, the promotion I went out and got them (2 buzzfeed articles, hooking them up with the documentary film crew from canada, convincing kariel to come ) the damage control I did for christomer in between the two merfests a year ago, and not to mention basically convincing this entire community that merfest wasnt a scam and they should go (you can see all my old posts where people were super suspicious and I worked hard to win them over) these people should be thanking me. Instead, they act kind to your face, and send messages to people full of total lies (recently had to get John Jay to make a statement that we didnt buy his tank because he decided it was unsafe for us to use, after Eden decided to tell everyone I was being a 'bitch' because I couldn't afford 'her' tank) take advantage of people time and time again, take credit for others physical hard work (great job putting your watermark on every photo sean took) and intentionally sabotage others (deleting all the underwater photos or keeping them from people from merfest 1, from people he saw as competition and trying to blame it on the poor photographer)

Like omg don't throw down, I can go there. I can realllllly go there.

I hope caroline does an amazing job with merfest. I know she will. She has my full support. She is amazing. These two? Not so much.

It's all about trying to "look good" they host you so people think they're great, then say horrible things about you and you lose friends over their lies. It must be nice to have money and blow it up on making people think you're a great pair of people. It reminds me of used cars salesmen. They'll tell you WHATEVER YOU WANT TO HEAR. So you think what they are selling is great. You need to hear this big post about how they are sorry and wanna change? Sure. But how many times have we seen that now? And how many more Private messages of crap are people going to keep getting?

I feel like in terms of FB drama in the community, the majority of it is started by, or perpetuated by, or manipulated by, these people.

Some people are AFRAID to speak up! Because of the tactics being used to silence them! People are afraid they won't get help on their tails, afraid they wont be paid for services owed, afraid they wont be able to participate at future conventions, and since these folks now all stooping to sending hate texts people are afraid these two or their associates are going to actually do something bad to them.

There may only be a few of us who are vocal at the moment. but there are many many more. All with their own stories, screen shots, and emails.

Even though their behaviour drives me insane I had the RESPECT not to point the finger at them and approached this issue very generally. I've been working my butt off to try and do that more. But nope, point it right at me because I have the courage to actually call it what it is. Total BS. and toxic.

It's in the same area. Theres been a planning thread about it on mernetwork for almost a year. originally they had the blessing of merfest staff and approached the whole thing as diplomatic as possible. It's not a full out con. it's started out as a meetup and since more people want to be involved they're accommodating requests for more people and events. Merfest past on the new years date they always do, so mermania decided to pick it up. Again, there was no issue. It seemed when they thought it wouldnt actually happen, everyone was fine. but now that it's happening, shit hitting the fan.

To be clear, it's really just these two people who had a problem, and are now pretending they don't, while still sending messages to people that suggest they have a problem. (and you know, hate texts)

The other staff at merfest have been very supportive and working with mermania to be sure both events meet the needs of the community, compliment each other, and don't take away from each other.

And for the record, the original idea for a merfest in NC was OUR pod's idea...as a whole. Turns out all the ideas we came up with as a group, were utilized by the very person we trusted to join our group. Little did we know his own agenda was more important than his pod, friendships, and as it turns out...his marriage. I don't trust anyone who associates with the sociopath and thinks it's ok. It's not ok to lie, cheat and steal then get mad when they percieve someone is doing the same to them...if you dish it out and least take your own medicine.

I WISH I LISTENED TO YOU AND I REGRET EVER NOT DOING SO. And yeah the whole thing with cheating on his wife with a mermaid? (I assume it's OK to say since they plaster it all over FB publicly) I don't judge people leaving marriages, all I can say is how he handled it made so many of us who love and respect his wife, look like we were all in on it and helping cover it up. Made me feel sick. I sent gifts for his daughter and wife and have the up most respect for them. So many of us got unintentionally put in the middle of that and it's horrible. Raina, I want to say a huge Thank You to you for calling out Christomer. I have never had any contact with Eden so this post is not about her, since I don't know her, but I surely know Chris and all the shit he pulled in our pod. Shelley and I cut ties with him and NCmerfolk years ago and did so publicly on FB and stated all the facts as to why we felt it was necessary. Most people didn't want to listen and blew us off. Chris has lied to me about being a part of a festival that he was never a part of, because he was mad I set up my own gig. He said they had a booth and a tank and when I contacted the organizer, he knew nothing about it. He accused me of hating him then, b/c I went and set up a gig. We all got into a huge fight because he said pro mers should only wear silicone tails. He contracted me for a photoshoot, then complained to other pod members that he had to pay me. He insulted my photography too. He purchased a web domain for a group I started "Mermaids of NC" and has since released it in case I wanted to purchase it. He also bought 'ncmermaids.com' (Mine is ncmermaid.com) and bragged to my local pod that he did that. His site links to Ncmerfolk. I organized my own gig at a local festival and he was mad I didnt invite him and others in ncmerfolk, however, the fairy hair people hung up banners in their booth and were walking in front of our mermaid cove handing out postcards promoting Ncmerfolk and ncmerfest at our event. The original idea of a Mermaid Festival here was Shelleys and he basically took over our group when he came into the scene. He set up the LLC and made him self president without asking anyone, and took all our ideas claiming them as his own. He wanted us to give a % of our own personal gigs to NCMerfolk. I did not agree to this and that was when I left. He talked behind my back to everyone that Shelley and I were trouble makers and not 'playing nice' in the group. I have so much shit I could say, but you get the point. And yes, I have screen shots of everything. This is why I did not attend Merfest in 2015. I went in 2014 and did not enjoy myself. I want absolutely nothing to do with Christomer.

Not much was ever posted on Mernetwork b/c of the drama I knew it would start and I figured noone would believe me anyway. My issues with him started in Summer 2013 when he joined our pod and got really bad around the holidays. I posted publicly on FB my issues, but b/c we were the first ones to deal with it, noone would believe us. If I came on mernetwork at that time, ranting about Chris, everyone would have attacked me. I kept quiet but on other posts I would occasionally talk about someone in our pod being unethical, I believe I even mentioned the festival where an ncmerfolk member was promoting themselves.

If you're a backstabbing jerk to people online, that's how people are going to know you. the reason I havent posted things (but I can provide to a mod for proof so they know I'm not lying) is that the stuff these two are doing and saying is so hurtful that the people it is directed at don't want others to publicly see it. It makes them feel bad to go through it again. I have all the screen caps about the mermania issues too, but I leave it to the staff if they want to drudge that up publicly. I do not want to compromise the event.

As for my own issues? Happy to post publicly if need be. I'll screen shot my whole entire PC screen with all the windows so people see there's no possible way I have edited. - hell I'll take video of it(and you know what, it IS hard to edit a screen shot!
