I am about ready to sculpt my tail, but I have one problem when it comes to choosing a monofin.
I want to have this shape on my tail http://bildr.no/view/TFk2NGw1 (the same shape as finfolk has) but i dont know which monofin that would fit inside. I have a competitor monofin and a Finis Wave monofin, which one would look the best (and work the best) ? i can buy another one if you know one that would fit perfectly, but these are the two that i find the most comfortable of those i have tried as well as the fact that they work really well for me :)
Thank you <3

I used to use a Finis Competitor just for monofin swimming, and always wondered what the process is for cutting and shaping its blade to fit into a mertail fluke. I could never share a pool lane with the Competitor because of its fiberglass blade and sharp corners and edges. When the blade is cut, are all the sharp corners and edges smoothed out and rounded in some way? Otherwise, I would guess that over time those sharp corners and edges could cut into the fluke and ultimately damage it. Just curious. Am sure there is much knowledge and wisdom about this subject out there. Hope you make the right decision.

As someone who has a cut competitor monofin in their tail, you just have to make sure you sand the cut edges. Also be careful of the tips, my tips poke into the silicone and have caused small holes; I have patched them with no problem but just be aware. What I also have found is that if you cast the silicone with a fabric backing it really helps keep the silicone from tearing.
