I am probably just using my tail to be a mermaid, but I'm trying to decide if I should do some sort of setup to go with it. And slightly off-topic, but this year I have apparently been forbidden from setting foot into any sort of Halloween or costume shop unaccompanied for my own good. I tried once and the dang motion sensitive ghouls nearly gave me a panic attack. I had to politely decline further assistance from the nice salesperson and flee as nonchalantly as possible.

I LOVE Halloween! This year I'm going as a Djinn. I am making it to look as opulent as I can in shades of purple, gold and teal. I am working on the pointed shoes and just finished painting my genie bottle as a replica from the one from the old tv show, I Dream of Jeannie. It's a plain glass 1964 Jim Beam limited edition xmas bottle that I bid on and then painted with automotive paint in the original designs. I also hand set Swarovski Crystals in it to give it a more Persian sparkle.

I am going as Medusa and my honey will be going as a warrior that I have turned to stone. We have done this costume once before, but it was a long time ago and not many saw us in it. We almost always do couple costumes and we always win contests for them. Last year we went as a Voodoo Priest and a Voodoo Doll, the year before we went as Shrek and Fiona. That was our best one ever in my opinion. We have also done Ariel and Triton, Wolf and Red Riding Hood...I can't even think of them all.
I really want to do a scary mermaid at some point. I found perfect fabric for it. I think I will buy it and work on it for next year.

In the past I have scared some of my friends at night by wearing dark clothes and putting my hair over my face and crawl out of the woods. I can crawl pretty fast too so I was thinking I could do that, but at the same time I want to have a scary makeup so I don't know... :p Anyone have some really scary ideas?

I ordered back in July. The wait time was supposed to be 9-10 weeks and it has been 13 weeks so far. I'm worried.

Well I have the opportunity to scare some teenagers in the youth group for their Halloween party. There will be a haunted forest that they will walk through.

I really need some super scary ideas. Does anyone have a link to a fairly simple DIY fake gore makeup? In the past I have scared some of my friends at night by wearing dark clothes and putting my hair over my face and crawl out of the woods. I can crawl pretty fast too so I was thinking I could do that, but at the same time I want to have a scary makeup so I don't know... :p Anyone have some really scary ideas?

Should I do a test run for my gore makeup before the day of the Halloween party?
I was thinking if I did a test run, I could do it on a day I have college and then show up and see what people's reaction is to gauge if I am scary enough.
The con to this would be using up some of my makeup.

So what am I doing for Halloween this year?
I am going to try to do something different from last year since I have a few new things to make it different this year.
Fin Fun Mermaid is having a Halloween costume contest where it has to be Mer themed and I entered my photo.
But now I wish I could change it because I have s new things to add to my blue mermaid look.
I am going to be sitting on my front porch passing out candy to the kids in my chair like how I did last year because I have no one to go to Halloween party's with or walk around with.
When I get the chance I'm going to be taking some pics like how I said above in my Mer look and I might post a pic here as my profile pic as soon as I can.
If I knew how to post pics here about my look like how I found on yahoo pics and like how I said above I would so that everyone can see in cause if you are all not on my friends list.

Update on 10/31/15
I was going to dress up this year as a blue MerAngel but when I took my huge white feather angel wings out of its bag, a few of the feathers started falling off and you could see the cardboard behind them and I have to figure out how to stick them back on since I don't have any glue at all and I only had clear tape.

Update on 11/1/15
Now I'm already having ideas for next year for my costume since I had fun this year again passing out candy to the kids on my front porch and next year I would like dress up like something else seeing how I was a blue mermaid back to back years.

Idea 1: I have this blue dress that has sparkles on it and that is short in the front and long in the back, but I don't know what I can dress up as with it and I don't know what else to get for this idea since I don't know what it is yet.

Idea 2: I also have a long pinkish dress with long puffy sleeves that my friend gave me that looks like a princess dress but the zipper on it and it has to be fixed because I don't think the dress fits me no more but I don't know what else to get for this idea since I don't know what it is yet either.

Idea 3: Black Cat, I just have to get the ears and tail with collar and the black cat make up and to find my black steel toe boots and I have black pleather pants that may or may not fit me no more, turtle neck sweater and black sweater.

Idea 4: The Swan Princes, I think I have a heart necklace with a swan on it that I think it went to The Swan Princess movie or the journal, I just have to find it and get the dress she wears in the movie, the long blonde wig and a pair of shoes like she wears in the movie.

Idea 5: Once Upon A Time Emma Swan as The Savior, I just have to get a long blonde wig, red jacket, white Emma Swan t-shirt, blue jeans since mine don't fit me, tall black boots, 2 Once Upon A Time Necklaces and a sword like hers and maybe a fake gun like hers.

Idea 6: Once Upon A Time Emma Swan as The Dark One, I just have to get a long blonde wig to whiten it, long black jacket, black top like hers in the show, black paints like hers in the show, black boots, 2 Once Upon A Time Necklaces and make the Emma Swan dagger like in the show.

If anyone can help me with any of my ideas above please let me know as soon as you can since I'm going to try to get everything that I need for the idea after the holidays are over and done in January 2016.

I ended up not really getting to do anything for Halloween... :/ Spent the afternoon/evening in the next town over for a YuGiOh sneak peek with the boyfriend (usually I'm not that interested, but there's a deck build coming out with this set that I really want to play and I wanted to get some of the cards), then we got fried chicken and hung out in the basement watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine with the lights off and pretending we weren't home, because I had to go to bed at 8pm and get up at 5:30 for work.

... Except that I ended up getting up at 4:30 and just throwing up all morning and had to call in sick. :/ So, mostly, this weekend's been kind of a bust. I've been hiding in bed all day chugging ginger ale to try and ease my stomach.
